Hey, what's up you [E] guys Marty Schwartz here got a easy fairly easy song progression for you
A lot of people asked on one of my old videos what the saddest of all keys is and it's this one is D minor
[Dm] But you have to say it with an English accent
D minor saddest of all keys
[C#] All right, bad English accent for the UK people out there.
I
Apologize.
[D] So what we're gonna do is we're gonna take a D minor chord
So, you know middle finger on
second fret of the G ring finger on the third fret of the B
Index finger on the first fret of the high E
[Dm]
Like that.
Alright, so we need to do [D] that.
What we're gonna do is we're gonna pick we're gonna pluck the
The D G and B
But
We want our pinky
We already are gonna have our index finger down on the first fret there
But our pinky is going to be on the third fret of the high E for that first
First hit of that string like this
[G]
Just [D]
[G] like that.
So here's what we here's what we got [D] so far.
We got this
[Gm] Then [Dm]
pinkies gonna come off so we go
And you hit that high E again that your index finger is pressing down.
So here's what we got
Then we're gonna put our pinky back down
Pluck it and then pull it off while that's still staying on the first fret.
So it sounds like this
One more time [D]
so [G] [Dm]
then I'm gonna hit the B string right after that, but here it is
Okay, the next thing I want to do is I'm gonna play an F major [Em] 7 chord
it's just an F chord with the high E ringing out [F] like that and you hit the D and G string [Am] and
Then you strum it so [F] it's
[Am] Then I switch [D] these two fingers up to a C chord and I'm gonna [C] pluck the A and D string and
Then strum that and that's the whole intro [D] sounds like this
[Dm] Sounds
[F] [Am] [C]
[Dm]
[F] [Am] [C]
[Dm]
pretty cool.
Alright, so now let's groove out a little verse action here and we're gonna do a D minor chord
[F] To
[Dm] F and you can let it be F [Em] major 7
[Am]
That open E in [Dm] there
[G] [F]
[C] We got a C chord after [Dm] that so we go down down down down up F [F] chord down down [Am] down down up
[C] C chord down down down down up back to D minor
[Dm]
[G] So [F] [C]
[Dm]
we kind of got when it goes back to the D minor it's on an upstroke so let's work out this rhythm here
We got down down down down [G] up
[Am] down down down down [C] up
down down down
[Dm]
up up down down up down
[Em] [Dm] And [G]
[F] [C]
[Dm] [G] [Dm]
[F] [C]
[Dm]
[F] [Am]
[C] [Dm]
[G] [F]
[C] [G]

[Dm] [G]
[F] [C]
[Dm]
[F] [C]
[G] [Dm]
[F] [C]
[Dm]
[F] [C]
[Dm]
it's a little interlude you can take this D minor chord
Kind of the same strumming pattern and slide it up a whole step and just avoid the low E and the A string
And other than that you're working it
[Em] You
[Dm] [Em] [Dm]
[Em]
[Dm] [Em]
could add your pinky down on that same thing that you were doing with the D chord and then you got it [Dm] so
Yeah, that's that's really it
[C#m] So hopefully that was helpful to you
