So grab your uke
Make sure it's in tune
If you don't know how to tune your ukulele
There's a link to a video in the corner that should help you
But when you're done, it should sound like this [Am] [N] and sit back and relax
While I teach you how to play the campfire song song by Spongebob most of the way through the song
You just need the chords of G and C
So let me teach you those chords now to play G put your first finger on the second fret of the third string up
your second finger on the second fret of the first string and
Your third finger on the third fret of the second string
Push down with your left hand on those strings and the chord of G should sound like [G] this
To play the chord of C
Take your third finger and put it on the third fret of the first string up and that should sound like [C] this
They're the two chords you're gonna need most of the way through so make sure that you know how to move [G] your fingers from the G
shape [C] to the C shape and
Once you know those two [N] chords, we're ready to start learning the song
That's what to do with your left hand with your right hand
You're gonna need to know the strumming pattern what I like to do during the verse is play the following strumming pattern
Down down up down up down up.
Let's just practice that pattern on the G shape for [G] a second
Down down up down up down up down down up down up down up
So let's start off the [F] song with the verse to begin with it just goes from G to C like this
Let's gather round the campfire [C] and sing our [G] campfire song
RC a MPF by
[C] ReS so [G] and G song and if you don't think that we can [C] sing it faster, then [G] you're wrong
And [C] now here you'll need two new chords, those are the chords [D] of a7 and D first
Let me teach you a7 you just need your first finger on the first fret of the third string like that now from the chord
Of G you're already on the second fret
So just slide it back one fret and you can lift up the other fingers from the fretboard
This is the chord of [A] a7 [E] and the fourth and final chord that you'll need for the song is the chord of D
For that you take your first [D] second and third fingers and put them on the second fret of the fourth third and second string
And that sounds like this
So let's get back to the song, but [A] it'll help if you just [D] sing
[N] bomb bomb bomb
So let's put that all together for the first verse G C G C G C a7 and D
It should [G] sound like this.
Let's gather around the campfire [C] and sing our [G] campfire song
RC a MPF by
[C] ReS so [G] and G song and if you don't think that we can [C] sing it faster
[G] Then you're wrong, but [A] it'll help if you just [D] sing [N] along
bomb bomb bomb
Now that goes straight into the chorus of campfire song and that is pretty much [G] exactly the same as the verse
Except to make it sound faster
You change the strumming pattern instead of down down up down up down up down down up down up down up to make it sound
Faster you just play down up down up down up down up like this
Now you're not actually moving your right hand any faster at all.
But because you're playing the extra up it sounds faster
Here's how it should sound our C a [C] MPF I re so [G] and G song
I see a MPF [C] I re [G] so and G song
And if you don't think that we [C] can sing it faster, then you're [G] wrong
Then remember it goes to [A] the a7 but it'll help if you just [D] sing along
[D#] And then go back up to the G again to repeat the chorus and see if you can get even faster
I see a MPF I re so [G] and G song see a MPF I re so and G song
If you don't [C] think that we can [G] sing it faster, then you're wrong.
[A] It'll help if you just [D] sing along
[A] And then the last time it slows right down when it gets to the a7 to make it sound slower
Just play down stroke.
So even though you're playing the same speed just playing the down strokes makes it sound at half the speed
So it goes to a7 and D like this.
It'll help
[D]
It'll help if you just sing [E] and then the last [G] line you get the G shape long
[N] And then to give it that nice ending you can slide it down one fret and then back up to the G and [F#] down again
[G] Like this, let me play you that last line really slowly.
[A] It'll help
[D] It'll help if you just sing [G] along
Slide [F#] it down
back up
Down up you're not taking your fingers off the G shape
You're just sliding it down one fret and then back up to the G to end like this
[A] It'll help
[D] It'll help
If you just [G] sing along
[F#]
