and [G] sit back and relax while I teach you how to play house of gold
Now there's two main parts [Bm] to this song
There's the verse [D] and chorus which are exactly [B] the same as one another and then there's the [Cm] bridge which is repeated after each verse [G] and chorus
Now the [B] verse and chorus is [Bb] really easy
The [Fm] only chords you'll need [Ebm] for that are C A minor F [B] and G for the bridge
You'll need the chords of [D] F A7 B flat minor and D minor [F] the chord of C
Get your third finger and [Eb] put it on the third [C] fret of the first string
_ _ _ to play the chord [Abm] of F put your first finger [Eb] on the first fret [G] of the [Eb] second string [Dm] and
Your second finger [C] on the second [B] fret of the [Ab] fourth string
[F] _ _ [Eb] To play the chord of G
Put [G] your first finger on the [F] second fret [Cm] of the third string
[Dm]
Your second finger on the second fret of [Ab] the [B] first string and [A] your third [Db] finger on the third fret of the second [G] string
_ _ And the chord of a minor is just your first finger on the second [C] fret of the fourth string _
[A] _ [Ab] Now you've got the chords [C] of C F _
_ [G] G and a minor [Am] _ you can play the [A] verse and
[C] Chorus of this [G] song the bridge though has a couple of extra [Ab] chords that you might [B] not know as well as the chords
But if you want to learn the chords of C F G G and G
You also need the chord [E] of A7 [Eb] which is where you put your [G] first finger on the first [C] fret of the third string

You'll need [F] the chord of D minor [G] which is very similar [Eb] to the chord of F
[G] Except you add your third [B] finger to the second fret [Ab] of the third string
[Dm] _ _
And you'll also need the chord [F] of B flat minor which sounds [D] very complicated
But isn't too hard for B flat minor
You'll need [B] to bar the first fret of
[E] The first three string barring means you put your finger down and cover all the [C] strings at the [Cm] same time on the fourth string put your
third finger [Am] on the third fret [Gb] and _ _
That is the chord of B flat [C] minor the strumming part that I'm going to show you you can play all the [D] way through the song
It's just down [Abm] down up down up down up
Let me show you slowly on the chord of C down down [G] up down up down up down [Cm] down up down up down [C] up _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ Once you come forward that strumming pattern and [B] you know all the chords
We're ready to start off with the first [G] chorus now
The first chorus is [Eb] actually just the chord of [D] C and in fact, it's not [B] even the chord of C
[G] It's just the note of C
[Ab] So put your third finger [G] on the third fret of [C] the first string like you [G] would for the chord of C
But with your first and second fingers [B] just mute the other three [Abm] strings
Muting [G] means you just put your fingers over the strings [F] lightly, but not hard enough to [E] make a note
So when you strum them
[G] It'll just make a sort of clicking sound the only note you should be able to hear is the note of C
This is what it should sound like

_ Now for the first chorus you can [Gb] play that note [Abm] all the way through it goes just [B] like this

_ So you can just play that C note [Eb] all the way through [C] the first chorus
The second chorus is a little bit [Eb] harder in that it needs some [Gbm] actual chords
But it's [C] not that hard at all.
The first line is just C F a minor [Gbm] G.
She [C] asked me son [F] when I grow old
[Am] Will you buy [C] me a [G] house of gold?
Then the second line is C to F [B] and then quickly between C G and [Bm] C like [C] this and when your father
Turns [F] to stone will you [G] take care of [C] me? _
And that's how to play all [Fm] of the verses and all of the choruses in the song.
So [G] let's put it all together
She asked [C] me son when [F] I grow [Dm] old
