[A] [D] You know the light is the [A] 2015 project from Uncle Lucius a great [Bm] outfit based right here in Austin, Texas
The [A] entire album showcases a band that's exploring all [D] of the creative benefits of independent record-making [A] the song
Taking in the view is quite [D] possibly the best example [A] of this.
Here's their [Bm] explanation
Taking in the view I say [G] this is the best song that ever wrote me
[D] Literally came out [A] in a matter of moments
But it [D] came through the filter of everything I've been thinking of or reading about or you know doing we were on tour a
Few years ago, [C#m] I guess it was a Midwest down to the southeast [Bm] US and so we're in Chicago
We went [A] through Ohio ended up in Asheville, North Carolina
[D] I was sitting in the van on a day off in [A] the hotel parking lot by myself and [Bm] open the door
The rains come in, you know, and I'm [A] just writing
Playing guitar and it's all kind of [G] spewed out and
[D] I was reading a lot of Joseph [A] Campbell at the time spoke about how we're at the terminal [D] moraine of our
[C#m] Mythology [Bm] it's time to create a new story
You take the old [G] and the new and create a new mythology
[D] And they [A] really hit me and that was the filter through which this came through
[D] But this is over a six [C#m] minute long song on the album.
[Bm] There's a really cool intro that's on it
[E] George reef our producer got Eleanor Whitmore from the Mastersons [A] to come in and do strings on it
And she just [D] said beautifully
We'll try
To redo it here on a Nord keyboard.
It won't be exactly the same which will be [G] the gist

[A] It's been so [E] long
[B] Since the rebounds were damn
Little Mary's living hand-to-mouth
Can't believe how fast it all went south taking pains to conceive of an [E] immaculate life
Jesus Christ it sure [B] gets hard sometime
[B] [F#] And I'm riding [E] mother's style this little [B] Chicago
[F#] He's headed down [E] to Asheville, [B] Carolina via, Ohio
[F#] They got a rich boy season climbing [E] and a rich of mountains blue [F#] and he's gonna spend his golden [E] years
Taking [B] in
