Lost Boy - Ruth B // Guitar Tutorial chords
Start Jamming...
What is up guys!
[Gm] I am so excited!
I am finally filming my very first tutorial
outside in my backyard this year.
So [Cm] we're [D] actually going to be learning Lost Boy by
Ruth B.
So I say we go ahead and [Bb] get started, but I need my guitar, [Bb] which is over there.
Excuse me.
[Ab] [Bbm] [Gb]
[Ab] [Bbm]
[Gb] [Ab]
[Bb] [Gb] [Ab]
[Eb] Alright guys, now that I have my guitar, we can go ahead [E] and get into the lesson.
Alright,
I feel [B] like the majority of you guys are really [D] going to love this tutorial because of how easy
it is to play, but there's [Ab] one little challenge in here.
You really didn't think I was going to
let you off that easy, did you?
Alright, [Eb] so first off, we are in standard tuning.
Make sure your
guitar [G] is in tune.
And there's no capo, so we're just going to go ahead and jump into chords here,
and we're going to start off with the most [Bb] easiest chord ever.
It's called an E minor.
[Em]
[G] Then we have a G major, [C] a C major, a [D] D major, and [Bm] for the last chord, you're either going [Bb] to love
me for this or you're going to hate me for this.
We have a B minor, and before you freak out and
comment down below that you hate barre chords or [G] click out of the video and leave to try and find
another [Bbm] tutorial that's like easier than this [Bb] tutorial, if you really want to advance your
guitar playing, you shouldn't hide from barre chords.
You can only hide from them for [Eb] so long,
and you can like use capos and you can try to transpose [Bb] different versions, but it gets to be
really [Cm] just a pain in the butt.
So [C] try the B minor with me.
Actually, [Bb] try it.
Alright guys,
come on B minor.
Grab your guitar.
Come on.
Try this with me.
Try.
Just take a [D] second.
Try it.
Okay.
Alright, I'm going to go with you guys.
We're going to pick this nice and slow.
I'm with you guys here.
[B] The reason why I want you to get this B minor is because it's perfect
practice [Bb] for you transitioning from an open chord to a barre chord back to an open [G] chord again.
This
song is actually, couldn't even be [Bb] more perfect practice for that because it's such a slow song,
and the strumming pattern is actually really, really simple.
So to give you [D] an example of the
strumming here, [Bb] I'm actually matching it up with how Ruth plays it on the piano because for each
chord she plays on the piano, she hits the chord twice.
So I'm just [Bbm] matching that up on the guitar
like this.
[Em] [G]
Just like that.
It's so, so simple.
So if you want to do that strumming pattern
[D] throughout the entire song, you can totally [Bb] do that.
I like to add just a little bit more,
just to kind of like [E] fill in and add a little something.
So I do this.
[G]
That pattern is [Bb] down,
down, down, up.
And then in some [B] parts where I just want to pick it up a little bit more,
I'll do [Em] this.
[G] [Em] So down, down, [G] down, down, up.
Down, down, down, down, [B] up.
And then there's
even some parts where I just do [Em] really simple single down strums just like this.
Alright [Bb] guys,
I feel like we [Bb] pretty much have all the bases covered.
So I'm just going to go ahead and jump
into the song.
Feel free [Ab] to follow along.
[Em] Here we go.
[G] [C]
[Gm] [Em] There was a time [G] when I was alone.
[C] Nowhere
to [G] go and no place to call home.
[Em] My only [G] friend was the man in the moon.
[C] And even [G] sometimes he'd
go away [Bm] too.
Then one [G] night, as I closed my [C] eyes, I saw [G] a shadow flying [Em] high.
He came to [Gm] me with
the [C] sweetest smile.
Told me [G] he wanted to talk for a while.
[Em]
[Gm] He'd a pen that's [Em] but a copy.
I [G] promised that you'd never be [C] alone [G] ever [D] since that day.
[Em] I am a lost boy from [C] Neverland.
Usually [G] hanging out, feet of [Em] sand.
And when we're bored, we play in the wood.
Always on [B] the run
from [Em] Captain Hook.
Run, [G] run, lost [C] boy, they [G] say to me.
[Em] Away [G] from all the reality.
[Em] Neverland is [G] home,
lost boys like me.
[C] Lost boys [Gm] like me are free.
Alright, [C] so now we're going to go ahead and take
it into the [D] bridge with the same chord progression, but we're going to [Gb] up the strumming just a little
bit.
It's going to go like this.
[Em] Peter [G] Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy, Darlene, even Captain Hook, you are my favorite [Em] storybook.
Neverland, I [G] love you so.
You are now my [C] home sweet home forever.
A lost boy [G] and forever.
For always, I [D] will stay.
[Em] I [G] am a lost boy [C] from Neverland.
Alright guys, so that is how you play Lost Boy by Ruth B.

And our Instagram winner is [G] Just Being Me1998 and our Twitter winner is [Dm] Atatevella23.
Second time in a row, girl, you were on top of [C] it.
And we didn't have a Facebook winner.
Nobody guessed it right on Facebook.

Thank you guys so much for watching and I will see you guys in my next video.
