What's up [Cm] guys?
Today's [Gb] lesson I know so many of you are [F] excited.
It is [Bb] Let It Go by James Bay.
Now before we jump in, this morning I posted [A] a photo on [Cm] my Instagram asking [Eb] you guys what song [Bb] you thought I was going to be teaching today.
And whoever [Dm] guessed it first gets a shout out in [D] today's video.
[Gm] So our Instagram [F] winner is [Gm] Itcherian.
[Cm] Or is it [Gm] Cherry-an?
So [D] congratulations [Bb] and I also posted this photo [Gm] on my Twitter and [Cm] on my Facebook.
Where we [Dm] also have two [G] other winners.
Now they [Bb] didn't guess it first [Ab] but they still [Dm] were the first person to guess [D] it on those two platforms.
[Bb] So our Twitter winner is Itsadavilla23.
And our Facebook winner is Jmsobrevilla.
So congratulations [Cm] to our three winners.
You all get high [Gm] fives.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Now you guys are going to [Bb] help me figure out what song I'm going to teach you guys next.
I'm going to give you guys two song choices to [Eb] vote between and you have 24 [F] hours from right now when this video is launched to [C] vote for the next lesson.
[Gb] So to do this fair and [D] square we are going to [Gm] be using an app called [Cm] Swell.
And if you've [Gm] never heard of Swell, the app looks like this [Cm] with a cute little whale on it.
[N]
Basically Swell is an app where people can ask [F] questions and give opinions.
So [C] like me for example, I want to know what song I should teach you guys next.
Because literally every single [D] day I get so many song requests.
And sometimes I just have a hard time deciding like what song should be the next lesson.
[C] So you guys are going to vote.
So if you guys want to know what the song choices are and be able to vote, [G] click the link [C] in the description box and enter [Ab] my invite code [F] into Swell.
And once you are in you will [C] be able to follow my account and you will be able to vote.
Alright guys.
We are going to go ahead and get into the lesson here.
This is going to be an easier version of how to play this [Em] song.
This is a more convenient version meaning you're not going to have to [D] tune your guitar into a completely different tuning.
Call me lazy for not wanting to retune my guitar but I really don't want to do that.
For those of you [Gb] that are like me and you don't want to change the tuning of your guitar, don't worry guys.
There's no shame in that.
Because we can still figure out how to play in standard tuning.
And guess what guys?
There are easier chords in this lesson.
So if you're looking for a complex exact replication of the song, I'm really sorry but this tutorial is not for you.
But I know there are so many other awesome guitar teachers here on YouTube that probably have that tutorial for you.
But this one guys is geared towards beginners.
Alright guys.
Like I said we are in standard tuning.
We have our capo on the 6th fret.
Now we're just going to go ahead and jump into chords.
So [D] starting off we're going to have a G [Db] major.
Our next chord is going to be a C major.
[Gb]
[Ab] Then we're going to have an E minor [Bbm] 7.
A D major.
[Ab]
An E [Bbm] minor.
Now this [E] next chord might be one that you've never heard of or never played before.
It's called an E minor over C sharp.
And it looks like this.
And it sounds like this.
[Bbm] It's actually really pretty sounding isn't it?
[G] And our last chord is an A [Ebm] minor.
Alright awesome.
So [N] those are our chords here.
Now what I'm going to do is take the song section by section and just go over the strumming patterns as I kind of go through the sections here.
So we're going to go ahead and start out with the intro verse.
So the progression here is going to go [Db] from G major to [Gb] C major [Bbm] to E minor 7 to [Ab] D.
[E] So I have the lyrics in front of me here because I know I'm just going to probably forget them.
Alright so I'm going to go ahead and play [Am] the progression for the intro slash verse.
It goes like this.
[Db]
[Gb] [Bbm]
[Ab] So G major.
[Gb] C major.
[Bbm] E minor [Ab] 7.
[Db] So.
Walking [Gb] home and talking low.
[Bbm]
[Ab] [Db]
Singing sharps.
[A] Okay so that's [F] how it goes.
You get the idea.
Alright so you probably noticed that we have two different strumming patterns here.
We have the down down down [Gb] down up.
Down down down down up.
So that's for the [E] first two chords.
So down down down down up.
Now the second pattern set is just a little bit more involved.
It goes like this.
[Bbm] [Ab]
[Am] So a little bit slower.
It sounds like [Bbm] this.
Down down up down [Ab] up down.
Down up down up down down up.
[E] Alright now moving on to the pre-chorus here.
Our progression completely changes [C] from E minor to a D major to an E minor over C sharp [Gb] to a C major.
So it's going to sound like this.
Now [Bbm] we're slipping at the end.
[Ab] Holding something [Bbm] we don't need.
[Gb]
[Bbm] Oh this illusion in our [Ab] head is going to bring us to our knees.
So [E] for this section the strumming [N] is really easy.
We've actually already went over the pattern.
It's the down down down down up pattern.
So we're just going to go ahead and move on to the chorus.
So our progression is going to completely unravel and change on us again.
So I'm just going to go ahead and go through and then we'll work on [Gb] the strumming.
Come on let it go.
[Db]
Come on [Bbm] let it be.
[Ab]
While [Ebm] you'll be [Db] you and [Ab] I'll be me.
Everything [Gb] that's [Db] broke.
Leave it [Bbm] to the breeze.
[Ab]
While you'll [Ebm] be [Db] you and I'll be [Ab] me.
And I'll [Db] be [Gb] me.
And [N] then there's a little interlude that it goes into that basically mimics the intro.
So it goes and [Db] I'll be me.
[Gb] [Bbm]
[Ab] [N] And then it goes around one more time and then it shoots into the second verse.
Alright so now we're just going to go over the strumming that we had in the chorus.
So starting with the C [Gb] major it goes down down up [Db] down up down.
Down up down up [Bbm] down up down.
Down up down [Ab] up down.
Down up down up down.
[Gb] Alright now moving on to the bridge.
You guessed it.
Completely new chord progression.
So we're just going to go [Ebm] ahead and start.
Tryna fit your hand inside [Db] of mine.
When we know it just don't belong.
There's no force on earth could make me [Bbm] feel right.
No.
[Ebm] Tryna twist this problem [Db] uphill when it's just too heavy to hold.
[Ab] Think now's the time to let [Bbm] it fly.
Come on [Gb] let it go.
[Db] Come [Bbm] on let it be.
[Bb] [Gb] Alright so new strumming pattern for the bridge here.
I am using the pattern down down down down up down up down down down [Ebm] up.
So I'll just use the A minor for example.
[E] And then when we hit that final chorus there we are going to take it really easy [Bb] and mellow.
And just have [D] single down strums.
So we [C] just have the [Em] just [Gb] let it go.
[Db]
[Gb] Alright guys so that is how you play Let It Go by James Bay.
If you enjoyed this [Em] tutorial and if it helped you out please help a girl out.
Give me a thumbs up.
If you are new to my videos and you would like to see more tutorials like this hit that [E] subscribe button.
Also if you haven't voted for the next song yet click the link in the description box so I can [Em] figure out what the heck I'm going to teach you guys next.
But that's pretty much it so I want to thank you [E] guys so much for hanging out with me today and I shall see you in the next video.
Peace out.
[G]
[A] [C] [B]

Come on [Gb] let it go.
[Db] _ _ Come [Bbm] on let it be.
[Bb] _ [Gb] Alright so new strumming pattern for the bridge here.
I am using the pattern down down down down up down up down down down [Ebm] up.
So I'll just use the A minor for example.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [E] And then when we hit that final chorus there we are going to take it really easy [Bb] and mellow.
And just have [D] single down strums.
So we [C] just have the [Em] just [Gb] let it go.

Our next chord is going to be a C major.
[Gb] _ _
_ _ _ _ [Ab] Then we're going to have an E minor [Bbm] 7. _ _ _ _ _
A D major.
[Ab] _ _ _ _ _
An E [Bbm] minor. _ _ _ _ _
_ Now this [E] next chord might be one that you've never heard of or never played before.
It's called an E minor over C sharp.
And it looks like this.
And it sounds like this.
_ [Bbm] _ _ _ _ It's actually really pretty sounding isn't it?
[G] And our last chord is an A [Ebm] minor.
_ _ _ _ Alright awesome.
So [N] those are our chords here.
Now what I'm going to do is take the song section by section and just go over the strumming patterns as I kind of go through the sections here.
So we're going to go ahead and start out with the intro verse.
So the progression here is going to go [Db] from G major to [Gb] C major _ [Bbm] to E minor 7 _ to [Ab] D. _
_ [E] So I have the lyrics in front of me here because I know I'm just going to probably forget them.
Alright so I'm going to go ahead and play [Am] the progression for the intro slash verse.
It goes like this.
[Db] _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ _ _ [Bbm] _ _ _
[Ab] _ _ _ _ So G major.
_ [Gb] C major.
_ [Bbm] E minor [Ab] 7.
_ _ _ _ _ [Db] So.
_ Walking [Gb] home and talking low.
[Bbm] _
_ _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ _ [Db] _
_ Singing sharps.
[Bbm] _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Am] So a little bit slower.
_ [Gb] _ _ _
[Bbm] Oh this illusion in our [Ab] head is going to bring us to our knees. _ _ _ _ _
[Db] _ _
Come on [Bbm] let it be.
[Ab] _ _
While [Ebm] you'll be _ [Db] you _ and [Ab] I'll be me. _ _ _
Everything [Gb] that's _ [Db] broke.
Leave it [Bbm] to the breeze.
[Ab] _ _
While you'll [Ebm] be _ [Db] you _ and I'll be [Ab] me. _ _ _
And I'll [Db] be _ [Gb] me.
And [N] then there's a little interlude that it goes into that basically mimics the intro.
So it goes and [Db] I'll be me.
[Gb] _ _ _ _ _ [Bbm] _ _ _
_ [Ab] _ _ _ _ [N] And then it goes around one more time and then it shoots into the second verse.
Alright so now we're just going to go over the strumming that we had in the chorus.
So starting with the C [Gb] major it goes down down up [Db] down up down.
Down up down up [Bbm] down up down.
Down up down [Ab] up down.
Down up down up down.
_ [Gb] Alright now moving on to the bridge.
You guessed it.
Completely new chord progression.
So we're just going to go [Ebm] ahead and start.
Tryna fit your hand inside [Db] of mine.
When we know it just don't belong.
_ There's no force on earth could make me [Bbm] feel _ right. _
No.
_ _ [Ebm] _ Tryna twist this problem [Db] uphill when it's just too heavy to hold.
[Ab] _ Think now's the time to let [Bbm] it fly. _ _ _
[Db] _
