Marty Schwartz here.
And, you know, I've got a nice brand new contemporary song that seems to be becoming a big hit.
And the cool thing about it is it's super easy to play with the nice beginner chords.
So I'm going to zoom in, show you those chords, and walk you through some kind of rhythm concepts and things.
And hopefully you enjoy it.
Also real quick, I appreciate your support, like subscribing to this channel of mine.
And also you can leave your song requests in the comments below and like the video,
all that stuff, tell your friends, yada yada yada.
Anyway, let's zoom in and break this one down though right now.
Here we go.
Alright, so we got kind of a newer popular song.
And this is a great beginner song.
I mean, if it's a great song, no matter what, but it's great for beginners because it's
really easy chords and not a lot of difficulty in the strumming either.
So let's get to it.
This is a great exercise in the beginner chords you need.
So the first one's E minor.
And so that's second fret on the A string and second fret on the D string and then the open [Em] strings.
Now [G] obviously she's playing this on piano, so the voicings of the chords are different
on the piano.
But the next chord, the second chord, is a G chord.
And so that's third fret, second fret, the open strings, and then the third fret on the
high E.
Then we need a C chord or C major, which is the ring finger on the third of the
[C] A, second of the D, [E] open [G] G, first of [C] the B.
[Em] So check it out.
And in the beginning, you just let them ring out.
[G] [C]
[G]
[Em] So G is in the progression twice.
It's E minor, [G] G, and then [C] C, [G] back to G.
[Em]
[G]
[C] [G]
[Em] And if you're a super beginner, it's nice to target the finger that's the utmost finger
in, you know, up here.
So in other words, for the E minor, target your index on the second of the A.
For the
G, target your middle finger on the third of [G] the low E.
[C] When you play the C chord, target
your ring finger on the third fret of the A.
[G] See that?
That really has helped me and helped students that I've taught.
[B] [Em] [G] Eventually, you want to get the whole chord at once, but it [C] really helps to have that target finger.
[G]
[Em]
[G] [Bb] [C]
[G]
There's one little chord change, and there are great chords that you need as well, and
it's just a little refrain before the chorus.
And it's an A minor chord, which is very similar to C, but the ring finger's off and tucked
behind on the second fret of the G string [Am] right there.
And then a D [D] chord.
So [Em]
[G]
[C] [G] that little refrain is [Am] A minor.
[A] [D] And then [G] that D chord, second, third, [D] second.
And [C] then we go back to the original chords, and you [E] can go down, down, down, up, down,
down, [Bb] down, up, down, down, down, up, down, [Em] down, down, up, down, [G] down, down, up, down.
