[Gm] Hello it's me the ukulele teacher here to teach you how to play L O V [C#m] E
So grab your uke, [A]
make sure [G] it's in [C] tune and [G#] let's get ready to play L [C#] O V E
This is a really fun jazzy song to [Gm] play on the ukulele and I'm going to teach you an
[G] easy-ish [F#] arrangement with just six chords
[E] The first chord you'll need is the [G] chord of C
To play C [C#] just put your third finger on the [B] third fret of the first [G] string
and C should sound like this
[C] The next chord you'll need is the chord of A minor [C#m] 7
and it really [G] is the easiest chord you'll ever need on the ukulele
because in fact it is all four open strings, you don't do anything with your left hand
A minor [Gm] 7 should sound like [C] this
To play D minor 7 put your first finger on [A#] the first fret of the [C#m] second string
your second finger on the second [B] fret of the fourth string
and your third finger on the third [C#] fret of the first string
and if you've got little fingers like I have then you might want [C] to use your fourth finger instead
Either [G] way D minor 7 should sound like [F] this
For [G] G7 keep [D#] your first finger [C#]
on the first fret of [E] the second string
put your second finger on the [Gm] second fret of the third string
[C#] and your third finger on the second fret of the first string
and [G] G7 should sound like this
To play F again keep your first [C] finger on that first fret of the second string
[F] and move your [C#] second finger over to the second fret of the fourth string
and F should sound like [F] this
[C#] And the final chord you'll need is the [G] chord of D
[F] To play the chord of D put your first second and third [C] fingers
[B] on the second fret of the fourth third and second [Gm] strings
and [G] D should sound [D] like this
[C#]
The strumming pattern that I play for this is [G] a regular down [C#] down up up down up pattern
but [D#] because it's jazzy I play it in a sort [G] of swing style like this
[C] down down up up down up down down up up down up
[C#]
The easiest way to learn this song is to [D] break it down one line at a time
The [D#] first line the L line goes [G] C A [A#] minor 7 D [C#] minor 7 G7 [G] and it goes like [C] this
L [Am] is for the way [F] you look at [G] me
The O line stays on the G7 and moves to C
O [G#] is for [G] the [C] only one I see
[F#] Then V stays on the C and moves [C] to an F
V is very [F] very extraordinary
[C#] And then E is [D] D to [Gm] G7 like this
E [Bm]
is even [D] more [G] than anyone [Gm] that you [G] adore and
So if we put all four [Am] lines together it'll sound something like [C] this
L is for the way you [F] look at [G] me
O is for the [C] only one I see
V is very [F] very extraordinary
[D] E is even more [G] than anyone that you adore and
That's how to play the [C#m] first half of the song
The second half of the song is [A] almost exactly [G#] the same
In [G] fact the first [A#] three lines [B] are exactly the same
[C] Let me show you
Love is [Am] all that I [F] can give to [G] you
And love is more than just [C] a game for two
Oh two in love can make it
Take [F] my heart and please don't break it
And then the last line which you [G] repeat is just C [C#] F G
And the only change [G] is in the strumming pattern you [A] just play half a bar on the [Gm] F
And half a bar [A#] on [C#] the G
And to do that just play two down strokes on each chord
Two [F] down on the F and two down on [G] the G
And then at the end you can play a down stroke on C F [C] C like this
[D#] So those last two [C] lines sound like this
Love [F] was made [G] for me and [C] you
Oh love [F] was made [G] for me [C] and you
C F C
And [B] that's how to play L O [D#] V [G] E on the [F] UK U L E [C#] L E
