Start Jamming...
[N] All right, so [E] it's early in the morning, and I look like hell, but that's all right
I'm feeling motivated to finally do the instruction video for
[C]
Whiskey Bent and Hellbound that [Ab] I've been promising for a couple of years now and several people been asking for
So [C] I'll do the video.
I'm self-taught and so I probably don't
[Em] wouldn't teach you [Ab] way a normal teacher would but
[C] I'll do the best that I can and I'll try to [Bm] break it up into a few different parts and
[C] Show you exactly what I'm [Ab] doing on those parts.
I play it out of E and so
basically the [E] chords involved are [B] E, B, and [Am] A
[E] As from a beginner's standpoint one [C] thing to understand is that you can make a single [B] chord a lot of different ways
for example [E] E
That's a standard E.
This is also an E and also an E and then a B would be the same [B] thing
and an A
[A]
And so a lot of the times you'll see me make an A
[Am] Like that it's just for a fuller sound and a habit I [A] developed
[B] So the start of the song I think I [C] picked that one with a flat pick most the time I'd use my fingernails, but
[E]
You start out in E, and then you play the bass strings
So that's just these two [B] strings, [E]
and then you walk it up a little bit [Gb]
[Ab] [Gb] [Ab] [Gb]
[E] [B]
[E]
[Abm] [E]
[Gb] and
[E]
[A] [B] [A] So
[C] That's basically what we're playing
[Eb] that's the lead part of the song as well as the
Introduction that I [E] do so we do it do start out with a bass
[Abm]
[Bb] and here you take these two strings
[B]
And you just slide them up two frets and then you [E] play open you go [Gb] back down
[Dbm] [E]
[Gb]
[E] And so you're still playing out of E there and then here and what you're doing there is you're sliding up
To that E which is right there,
[Abm] [D]
[E] and so you're picking out of E still, but you're you're just doing it up here, so
[Em]
[B] [E]
[Gb] [Em]
[E]
[Ab] [B]
[G] [E]
[Gb] [E]
[B] [Gb]
[E] [A]
[Abm] [Bm]
[B] [E]
[B] [A] [E]
[Em]
[B] And that's just B
You're doing the two bass strings there
[Bm] [E]
[Abm] [A] [E]
[B] [E]
[Em] [Gb]
[B] [E] [C] [E]
[Em] [E]
[B]
But don't play your [E]
cheating heart
Cause that'll tear [A] me [E] all apart
[Em] And I need to get [B] with skipping [E] here by
So when [Em] you're doing the rhythm [E] there
I play the bass string with the flat pick and then I take my fingernails and I do the strumming
So back to the beginning.
I'll just go through it real slow one more time
[B]
[A]
[E] [D] [E]
[A]
[E]
And that's the same thing
Through the course and when you do the picking on the rest of the of the song
So hopefully that will help some of you folks who then won't do it out
And was what you needed, [Eb] and if not let me know and I'll try again
