UNBOXING of Irish Hurling Stick "Crazy Horse" Guitar | "Horses over Mulholland" chords
Start Jamming...
[E] Hey, what's up everybody?
This is Justin Johnson, and I'm excited
I just got this package from Dostik guitars and just traveled all the way from
Poland right here to my doorstep in Hollywood, California
[N] And let's see what's in this baby
[E] [Ab]
[G]
[Bb] [Em]
[N]
All of the guitars I've seen from Dostik guitars have such beautiful staining
awesome handwork
Woodworking.
Oh man.
Look at that headstock.
That is amazing.
It's got that horse head.
That's beautiful [Ebm] work
Look [N] at that
Feather on there.
That's killer
Yeah, he went with Western sort of a Native American Western motif on this one
It's got a nice weight to it as small as it is
And most of the guitars from Dostik guitars are made out of these Hurley sticks
Which is a sport in Ireland?
Look at that.
That is beautiful.
Looks like it's all oak
You can see there's the different staining on the fifth and seventh fret of the twelfth fret
It's got this beautiful sunburst to it.
You can see the stain gets darker around the edges and
That leather right there for the pick guard is all hand
You know has that design on it by hand
Wow, even the pickup has a snakeskin
Over the top of it.
It's like real snakeskin.
That's gorgeous
Back of it really smooth neck.
Also.
I've got another one of his guitars
You might have seen [Bb] it [Abm] see me doing [Dm] some performances on it [Ab] and it's a lot [F] thinner than this
This is a much [N] thicker stick and it sounds like it feels like it's gonna be a little more stout
Of course, this also has a fretboard on it
I'm looking forward to plugging this in
Yeah, even the bridge you look at the woodwork there
so meticulous
All
[Eb] right, let's tune this baby up and see what [N] she does
so I just put the strap on this and I've got it plugged in here to this Roland Street Cube amp and
When I'm tuning these things a lot of people ask, you know
How you tune a four string or how you approach a guitar like this when you first get it?
This has the a D G and B strings from a standard six string pack
And what I'm gonna do this time since it's got frets and check the intonation the intonation is really great on this
I'm gonna play with just using the frets and so I've got it tuned to a special tuning
I use a lot of times with this string setup and it's an a
D G C.
That's how I have it tuned
So even though the root note the lowest note starts on an on the note a you basically
Play it as if you were playing either a four string bass or the bottom four [C] strings of a guitar
So [A] that's how the patterns line up
[Am] [N]
