So you put this show on though, just for context.
You are Gary of the B3 Vintage [N] Guitar Show fame,
and I think I may have just found the most expensive guitar here.
[Eb] I don't know, I mean that one's only $125,000.
Oh [Db] that's it, how did you come to [A] acquire a 1935?
A friend of mine had that one [Eb] and I had an old pre-war D18 shaded top that he wanted really bad
and [B] we worked a deal.
I see, so it was a trade.
[A] It was a trade and of course I had to give a little
[Db] knack, I had to give him quite a bit of cash to get it.
Yeah, it was a trade plus.
[C] Exactly,
but a 1935 D28 herringbone, they're [N] extremely rare.
How many do you think are in existence?
[G] I don't know, probably maybe 30.
So you just put on here, [N] expensive, that's the price, expensive.
[E] [D]
So you're gonna let [Eb] me play this thing?
If you're nice and careful.
Do I have to sign a waiver?
[E] Well.
It's in my hand.
Oh [A]
no [C] way, I can't believe I'm hearing [A] that.
[C] All right, thank you.
I will just be [A] a couple minutes.
Sure.
So [N] this is a 1935 D28 herringbone.
It's killer.
It's expensive.
$125 [A],000.
Let's see [C] what it sounds like with the first chord [Am] that
every guitar player plays when they pick up an acoustic guitar.
[G] Might need to tune up.
Always
bring a [E] tuner to a guitar show.
[D] [G]
Oh, that feels rich and ancient.
