[Ab] The 2010 [Db] mini album, they call us the Trish's, has music fans and critics [Ab] from all over singing
the [Db] praises of this Austin-based quartet.
Their sound has been [Ab] described as what would [Gb] happen if [Db] Texas dirt, Mississippi river water,
city life, and [Ab] apple pie all sat down in a pick [Gb] and circle at an [Db] Austin, Texas backyard party.
Well, I [Ab] think I get it.
So count me [Gb] in.
It's called [Ab] Rise Above.
It's one I wrote about a year and a half ago [Gb] about my [Db] grandmother and just losing her.
[Ab] And I was really [Eb] close to her my [Gb] entire life.
And so just, you know, [Fm] facing that challenge, you know, of, [E] I don't think you really have
gone [Abm] through something [Gb] like that, you know, that strongly before, [Ab] you know, at least for
[Db] me until it happened.
And [Eb] I wrote it, you [Bb] know, [Eb] a while after she [Db] passed away and didn't really know what to
do [Eb] with it.
And [Bb] then like [Eb] all of our songs, I brought it to the girls [Db] and we made it our own.
[Eb] So, you know, all of the harmonies and just the complete [Ab] composition and how everything is [Db] done.
Uh, that one, I think we actually did [Ab] sat down and in an [Db] evening after we were done
practicing with everything else and just randomly, we're like, oh, let's try [Em] it and started doing it.
I [A] live my life just loving [E] your smile.
[D] Always believing that the blessed [A] never die.
Now there is this darkness just outside [E] of grace.
There are [D] these tears you'll never see on [A] my face.
I'm gonna stand [E] on my feet.
Rise above [A] this pain.
I'm gonna stand on [E] my feet.
Stand on my feet.
Rise above [A] this pain.
Rise above this pain.
I'm gonna stand on [D] my feet.
Rise above [A] this pain.
There is nothing that just ain't [E] gonna happen.
Rise [D] up river.
You're [A] no longer waiting.
There's no wooden box full [E] of our memories.
[D] Voice hold me.
Our breath [A] is precious things.
I'm gonna stand [E] on my feet.
Stand on my feet.
Rise [A] above this pain.
Rise above this pain.
I'm gonna stand [E] on my feet.
