Hi, this is Jamie Lynn [E] Wilson and you're watching the Texas music [G] scene with my little buddy Ray Benson
[C] Welcome back friends speaking [D] of friends miss Jamie Lynn Wilson has been a long time pal to our television series
You know, we think [A] she's just amazing voice the songwriting chops the country [Bm] music sensibilities.
We love it all
She [A] assembled a fantastic band for her Texas music scene session.
So let's [G] check it out
Ordinary people is
Actually an older song [D] from a from an [A] EP that I put out in 2010
[Bm] It's one of those songs that I [E] I sat down and just wrote all in one
actually, [A] I wrote it in the parking lot of Kohl's and [D] new Braunfels on a paper towel, but
Back then my old band the Gougers.
We were breaking up
2009 and
[C#] and then the Trish's were kind [C#m] of
[Bm] Starting to form and I could see that happening.
I sat [A] there with this batch of songs
It [D] was like six songs that I had that had never been recorded [C#] before and I kind of wanted to get [A] them down
[Bm] just
So that I [C#] did it before anything else came along before I start like I wanted to go.
This is me
[D] This is what I do.
This is [A] and here are these songs.
So I got my friends Silva who's [D] playing with me today
Cody [A] Braun who's playing with me [Bm] today?
Cody foot David beta
[G] Scott Davis and we went to Cedar Creek [A] and made this little EP that I [D] never really did anything with it
[C#m] I just kind of made it [Bm] and I printed some and I would tell them sometimes
[Em] Mail them to people from my house or whatever, [A] but never did anything with it
And [D] I really love all of the songs that are on it
And so when I was trying to decide what to do, you know what I'm gonna give
Lily peace and love today because I'm [G] really proud of this song
It all matter that I know just [C] how you like your morning coffee
[G] It all matter that I know which way you lay your [D] head at night
[G] It all matter that the whole damn [C] world
Sometimes I forget me.
[G] It's just a nice to spend an evening
[D] Here with someone [G] that I like I spent so much time stuck in [C] between
What I've got [G] need I know, you know just what I mean you do [D] same thing too
[G] Then off you go all by yourself
[C] Sitting soak and sometimes [G] melt into the hand you've been dealt.
There's nothing else to do
[D] Meet me in the parking [G] lot just off the [C] highway
There's a spot where I will be [D] waiting for you
Maybe we could find [G] somewhere to sit and talk
clearly here like ordinary
[D] people do
[C] [G]
There's something mighty strange [C] about the way the people
[G]
Search and scrounge until they found something [D] can't hold dear
[G] Then they finally realized it was right for their eyes
They let it drain until it [D] dried and then it [G] disappeared
[D] Meet me in the parking [C] lot just off the highway
There's a [G] spot where I will be
Waiting for you
[D] Maybe we could find
[C] sit and talk

[D] [C]
[G] It all matter that I notice how you always seem half empty
It all matter how I know that you get lonely [D] late at night
[G] That I always think of you
[C]
Hope you don't forget me [G] cuz it's nice to spend time down [D] there with someone [G] that I like
Well, it's nice to spend time down [D] there with someone [C] that I like
