[A] Hey y'all, my name is Zane Williams, and I'm proud to be part of this Texas [E] music scene.
My big buddy Ray Benson
[A] You know Zane Williams has got that retro country [E] music bug.
You know, it's it's that Waylon Willie Merlin paycheck kind of thing
It's it's the theme [G] of his
2016 [D] project [Em] bringing country back.
[C] Here's his story behind the title cut
[Em] Bringing country back kind of [G] was inspired out of Cody [D] Jinks concert
Actually, I [E] was watching Cody and his boys do that [D] thing and I was like, this is sweet
This is like [A] transported back in time to a real [E] country music show
I wanted to write like a kind [A] of a waving groove old-school type [E] country song like that
And so originally [A] when I was writing that song, I was thinking [E] that maybe
Somebody like [D] Cody or some other outlaw type of [A] guy would sing it and then eventually I [E] was just like no
I like this song.
I'm just gonna record it myself
We're
[Em] [E] singing down in the holler
Digging out the coal
[G] [E] Singing down in the Delta land where the muddy waters roll muddy [A] waters roll
Sing it drifting [Em] down an old railroad track
[E]
[C] And I sure did like that singing.
[D] I guess that's why I'm bringing [E] country [D] [E] back
Rivers on Union Road, not big chill to sound
But it ain't dead and gone
It's just gone underground It's [A] gone
You can hear right now just coming [Em] up through the cracks
[Bm] [C] This thousand guitars ringing.
[Em] I ain't the only one bringing country [D] back
[A]
Bringing back that stone cold solid gold [E] good old country blues
[A]
You don't hear it anymore
Only there's no one to [Em] feel those shoes
[C] Some folks still get off on a [D] song like that.
[G] I guess that's why [E] I'm bringing country back
[Em] [E]
Well, I've been both our pre-singers
rolling in the grave
Watching some of these young guys just prancing around the stage
prancing around [A] the stage
prancing around the stage
Like a little kid trying to wear their [E] daddy's hat
[D] [C] I'm hoping you can hear me singing.
[D] I hope you know that I'm bringing [E] country [Bm] back
[A] Bringing back that stone cold solid gold good old [E] country blues
[A] Cause you don't hear it anymore
Only there's no one [Em] to feel those shoes
[C] Some folks still get off on [D] a song like that
[G] I guess that's why [E] I'm bringing country back
Well [A] [E]
[D] [Em]
[A]
[A] [E] [Em]
[C] [D]
[E]
[D] [E]
it rumbles just like thunder
Spilling out the doors when all those voices holler
Calling out for more
Calling out [Am] for more
[A] As the last note plays and the stage fades [E] to black [C] say boys do you feel like singing
Yeah, [D] [E] till ma we're bringing country [D] back
[A] Bringing back that stone cold solid gold good old [E] country blues
Cause [A]
you don't hear it anymore
Only there's no one [E] to feel those shoes
[C] Some folks still get off on [D] a song like that
I [G] guess that's why I'm bringing [E] country back
[Bm] If [C] you can hear this song I'm singing, [D] I'm bringing country [E] [D] back
