Start Jamming...
Louis Louis by the Kingsmen.
First version is going to be like this.
Your left hand is
just going to [A] be in [B] an A major position.
[G] Pinky.
This is what just the guitar player plays.
And because [N] we are superior than guitar players, we can play what the guitar player and the
bass player plays.
But we're going to start just with the guitar.
So [C] the chord [A] progression
is A, [D] D, [E] E, [D] D.
So the left hand is just [A] going to do this.
[D] [Em]
[D] [D#] That's the bass line.
[N]
I'm sorry
the left hand.
Now the right hand is a little bit trickier.
[D]
But just practice it and you'll
[A#] get it.
You've got E and A.
[A] Remember A, E and A.
If you put the C strap here, it's an
A major chord.
Spread out A major.
It's called open position.
So jump [F]
[D] up here, A and F [F#m] sharp.
And then up here, [Em] B and G.
[F#m] And back down.
[C#m] So those are your three chords.
E and C sharp.
[D] A and F sharp.
[C#] B and G.
Three [N] chords.
That's it.
A [A] major.
D [D] major.
And then back down.
E [Em] minor.
[A] But with each of [D] these chords, all we're [Em] doing is we're taking the middle note
[D] of the chord and we're putting it [A] up on top.
So A major, we take the C sharp and we put
it there.
[D] D major, take the F sharp and we put it here.
[Em] E minor, take the G and we put
it there.
Okay?
[N] You'll get it.
Watch this video a couple times.
Don't worry about it.
So then together it's going to be like this.
[A]
[D] [Em] [D]
[A] [D] [Em]
[D] [N] [A]
[D] [Em] [D]
[A] [D] [Em]
[D] [A]
[D] [Em] [D]
[A] [D] [Em]
[D] [N] Now, that's just what the guitar player plays.
Now for the super fancy version.
Once you get that down, I like how you get both of
them down just for fun.
For practice.
So now, [D] instead of just A, [A#] D and E, [B] we're going to
do octaves with your left hand.
So it's the [A] same note, you're just doubling it.
A, A,
A, [D] D, [E] D.
[D] Same thing, just [A] doubling the note.
So you get a fuller sound.
[D] [Em] [D] [A]
[D] [Em] [D]
Obviously a little
bit trickier.
But there you go.
[G] Louie Louie.
