Start Jamming...
[C] [F]
[C] [F]
[C] [D] [F] I said
[D] [C]
[C] hey babe, take [F] a walk on the wild side.
And all the colors that [C] I said.
I did, did, did.
[F] Hi, great to see you and [Eb] welcome to another video.
Today we're going to take a look at a song by Lou Reed.
It's called Walk on the Wild Side.
I thought this would be quite a good one for beginners because it's fairly [C] straightforward.
It hasn't got many chords.
Okay, in fact it's only got three and they are C, [F] F and D.
[D] And remember with the D, just play the bottom four.
[Gb] Don't play those top two.
[G] Okay, and so what this song is about is the right hand mainly.
It's about getting a strum which kind of gives the feel of the song.
Okay, now a good way you can practice a strum on anything that you're trying to learn really
is to deaden what's happening on the left hand.
And just, [N] you know, that is a great way to practice your strumming so you can get the flavor of what this song is about.
[B] Okay, so for this, what I do is I just
[C]
[A] [G] That is the strumming pattern that you're trying [Fm] to aim for.
So slow it down, that is.
[Eb]
So something like that, something close to that.
Okay, now the verses are just [C] between C and [F] F.
Okay, so you've got C, [F]
F.
[C] [F]
And the only different bit is where it goes to [D] a D.
F, D.
[G] So I'll show you where that comes, okay?
[C] So it's
Little Joe, everyone's getting [F]
away.
[A] [C] Everybody hands [F] playing their game.
[C] Hustle here [D] and a D is there.
[F] F is there.
[D] D is there.
I [C] said hey baby, take a walk [F] on the wild side.
I said hey baby, take a walk on the wild side.
Alright.
So as you can hear, the choruses are just all C and F, yeah?
So the only thing you've really got to think about in this track is when it goes [C] to the D.
And I'll play that one more time for you, okay?
Little Joe, everyone's [F] getting away.
[C] Everybody had to [F] pay the fee.
A hustle here and a [A] hustle there.
New York City [D] is the place where they [C] said hey baby.
And that's that really.
That's all [Ab] there is to it.
You've got C, an F and a D.
Verses are C and F with the D thrown in.
And the choruses are just C and F.
So as I say, I thought that would be a quick one for you to kind of get to grips with.
Not too difficult.
