Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy Guitar Tunes on YouTube again.
I've got another request,
another request for a bunch of my subscribers.
You guys have been wanting to hear some Garth Brooks,
so I'm going to put this one up.
It's called The Dance.
It's one of my favorite tunes by Garth
Brooks, so I hope you guys enjoy this one.
I've simplified it a little bit, made it four chords.
It's got a nice pretty slow strum to it there, so let's get into the chords for this one.
The
chords are G, and I'll tell you, I play it, I like to play the G with the, in this particular
song, with my last three fingers, so I can leave that index finger free to color up the G.
So what
I would do is put the index finger on the second string from the bottom in the first fret.
Just
makes it sound pretty.
[C] Then there's a C, and I'll lift the middle finger on the C and back down [F#] the
same string to color that [C] chord up as well.
[D] Then there's a D, and I'll suspend the baby finger in
the third fret on the bottom string, just to make it sound a little more colorful.
All these little
tricks are all optional.
You can do them or not do them.
I just find they make the song sound a
little better.
And then there's a B [Bm] minor.
So again, the [G] chords are G with the suspend index, second
string from the bottom in the first fret.
Now [C] there's a C.
Lift that middle finger and then back
down the same string.
[D] Then there's a D, suspending the baby finger.
[Bm] And then there's a B minor.
Strum is very, very pretty.
It's more of a kind of [G] a, you're not actually doing a full strum.
You're
actually just kind of lightly going up and down the strings.
So for the G chord, you'd kind of
lightly brush the bottom four strings.
[C] C chord, you'd brush the middle four strings.
The [D] D chord,
you'd brush the bottom four strings.
[Bm] And B minor, the same.
The bottom four strings.
Let's go over
that again.
I'll go a little slower this time.
[G] So G, you'd go up and down and brush up and down the
bottom four strings.
[C] C, you'll brush the middle four strings.
Actually the bottom five really.
[D] And then D, the bottom four.
And then [Bm] B minor, the bottom four again.
[G]
So instead of doing that
[E] full strum like you're so used to doing when [Bm] you first start note, just try to brush the strings
like you're barely touching them up and down those strings.
[D] Practice that for a [G] little while.
Practice
those chords and then join us for the song.
So here we go, Gareth [A] Brooks, The Dance.
This is a great
tune guys.
I hope you guys enjoy this one.

[D]
[C] Say [D] goodbye [C] and I'm glad I [D] didn't know the way [Bm] down there, the way down [C] [D] below.
[C] All I, I better left [D] you to chase.
I could have [Bm] missed the pain, but I'd have had [C] to miss [D] the
[G] day.
Holding you, I [C] held everything.
For [D] a moment, well [G] then I, and if I'd only known how [C] the game was fought.
Well [D] who's to say,
you know how [C] mine has changed at [D] all.
And [C] I, I'm glad I didn't [D] know the way [Bm] down there, the way down [C] below.
[D] All [C]
I, I better left you to chase.
[D] I could have missed the [Bm] pain, but I'd have had [C] to miss [D] the [G] day.
[C] [G] It's [C] all I, I better left you [D] to chase.
I could have [Bm] missed the pain, but I'd have [C] had to miss [D] the [G] day.
[Am] Brooks, that's a [N] beautiful song.
So I hope you guys enjoyed that one and if you have any questions
or comments, make sure you let me know there guys.
