Start Jamming...
What's up guys, Brandon Slavinski here.
Today I'm teaching you this awesome song, Sixpence
None the Richer, Kiss Me.
You guys remember that song?
Wasn't it on Dawson's Creek or
something like that?
I think that's right.
I think it was on Dawson's Creek.
Cool song.
So we're going to learn it, right?
Capo on the first fret.
[Eb] What you're going to do, you're
going to start off with a D.
Everything I'm telling you is going to be relative to the
capo.
So to play that D, it's mute 2 3 2. And then you're going to do a D major 7. You're just going to take your index finger and flatten it out right there on that second fret. So it's going to be mute 2 2 2. And [Bbm] then you're going to play D7. Mute 2 1 2. [Eb] And then we bring it back, right? [A] [Db]
[Ab] One more time. [Db] [Ab]
[Eb] And obviously it's a lot [E] faster. It's actually [Eb] like this. So that's for the first part of the [Ab] verse and at the end it goes to a G. 3 2 3 3. [Eb] So, swing by the street, [Ab] [Eb] you wear your shoes and [Ab] I will wear that dress. So that G. Then we hit the chorus. [Fm] Oh, dropped my pick. Like a normal guitarist. Just like that. Then we hit the E minor. 2 2 0. [Bb] To an A, which is mute 2 2 2 0. To a [Eb] D, which we've learned. [Fm] To [Bb] the [Eb] A. To the D. [Ab] [Eb] We do a D7, which we've learned. [Fm] And then lift your [Bb] open hand. To [Fm] the A. E minor [Bb] to the A. And then this is where it gets [Eb] a little crazy. [Bb] [C] [Cm] [Ab]
[Bb] [Eb] Alright, so this is what we're going to do for that part. Alright, so this is on the tail end of the chorus. We're going to do a D, which is going to be 5 7 7 7. You can really concentrate on the low end of the strings. You're muting that low E and on the A string it's going to be that 5 7 7. So let's just do those specifically. [Bb] [Eb] And then down a half. [Bb] So [D] that's going to be 4 [Eb] 7 7. Then [C] we go down to like a B position, which is going to be 2 4 4, starting at the A string. [Bb] And then lift your index finger. [C] [Bb] So that's going to [Cm] make it be mute. You're not going to play that [Bb] low E. [Cm] [Eb] So [C] try [Cm] and mute that low E. And then [Ab] a G. And then we're [Bb] going to do this. This is an A. What is this? A sus 4. So what you're going to do is you're going to mute 2 2 [Eb] [Bb] 3 and then to a normal A. [Eb] So one more time. [Bb] [C] [Ab] Right [Bb] [Eb] back into the verse. [C] [Gm] [Ab]
[Bb] So [Eb] let's [Abm] try that one more time. 1 2 3 [Eb] 4. [C] [Bb] [Ab] One [Bb] more [Eb] time. [C] [Bb] [Ab] [Bb]
[Eb] [Bb]
[Eb]
