Welcome [Cm] to New Song Cafe at [Bbm] worshiptogether.com. I'm Vicki Beeching and today [Ab] I'm joined by
Martin and Stu, [Db] members of the band Delirious.
Delirious have had a huge impact [Bbm] on both the
church and the [Ab] secular music scene and today [Db] they're here to share their song, Majesty.
So [Eb] thanks for joining us and I hope you [Eb] enjoy this New Song Cafe at worshiptogether [Gb].com.
Stu Martin, it's great to have you with us today.
Thanks for having us. Thank you.
And we're going to [C] hear your song, Majesty, but we'd love to hear a bit [Bb] about how it was
written and whether it was together or separately and the story behind it.
[Bb] Okay, sure.
Well, Majesty, Here I Am started off really as a real deep personal experience.
I was just in this place where I just felt like I was in the presence of the King Jesus
and really what came out was, as my response, is the song, Majesty.
So there's a lot about
grace in there.
It's amazing that we can stand before Jesus and be totally forgiven
and just come as we are.
That's kind of the feeling behind it.
[Eb] Feeling.
And then what was your role in the song?
My role in the song was making a cup of tea while he was writing it [Bb] and cheering him along.
That's not quite true.
We worked [A] on the chorus together and kind of got it [Bb] into shape for the album.
Wow.
Why don't you play it for us? Okay.

mine.
Since [D] you laid down your life, the
greatest [C]
sacrifice.

[G] Majesty.
[C]
Majesty.
[C] Your grace has found me just as I am.
[G] [Am] Empty handed
for the love in [F] your hand.
We're singing [C]
[G] Majesty.
[Am]
[F] Majesty.
[C]
Forever I am changed by your [G] love.
[Am] In the presence of your [F] Majesty.
Wow.
That's [Bb] awesome.
Why don't you show us a bit of what you're playing?
It looked fairly
complicated but walk us through what you did.
What we've done [Gb] is we've put it in the key of C.
[Cm] To get the voicing that [Bb] I liked for
my version of it, I've tuned down a whole tone [D] so that these strings are now D strings
[Db] and I'm [Am] playing it in B minor and I'm [G] just walking [F] down using a lot of passing notes
and a lot of open strings.
[C] So beautiful.
[C] I like this sort of voicing.
Again with some of the open strings.
[G] It's a little bit more
sort of rootsy but [C] if we play it in standard notes you get that thing when it sounds a
bit bigger again because [G] of the two guitars.
[Am] So A minor.
Anyone can play this.
[F] It's [C]
just C, G, A minor and F.
[G] [Am]
[F]
[Bb] Great guys.
I love the [Db] song.
Thank you.
Thanks so much for coming and sharing it.
Thank you.
It's a pleasure being here.
[Ab] [Bbm]
[Db] Majesty.
Majesty.
[Gb]
[Db] Your grace has found me just as [Ab] I am.
[Bbm] Empty hand and body.
