Blues in the key of E Lesson - Thumpin' the Blues - part 1- TAB avl chords
Start Jamming...
Well, hello folks, this is Daddy Stovepipe teaching Tampin' the Blues.
I had many [D] requests for that song, so well, let's go over it and [G] start.
It's in the key of E, and let's [E] tune up.
[A]
[D] [Em]
I'll play the first verse slowly.
[D] All [Em] [Am] [E]
[D] [E] [Bm]
[A] [Em]
[Am] [A] [D] [E]
[Bm] [Em] [B] [A]
[E]
[Bm] [B] [E]
right, first [G] chord, you bar the first three strings at the [C#m] ninth fret.
[Bm] Then we go to A6 chord.
[F#m] [Em] Five, [A]
[F#m] seven, six, seven.
[Em] [A]
Then again, [Bm] [G] this is also sort of E chord.
[G#] Four, [C#m] five, six.
[Bm] Move down two frets.
[E] Then a sort of A minor chord moved up.
Five on the second string, [C#m] and six and six.
[A]
[Bm]
Okay, the bass, well, you have to practice that.
It's a 12-eight bass, I think they call it.
[F#] It's,
[C#] so the accent is on the [F#] second part of the gate.
[E] [Bm]
[D] [F#m] [Em] [Am]
[E] [D] [E] [Bm] [E] [Bm]
[Em] Now we're going to the A section.
[A]
[F#m] [Em] Same A6 [A] chord.
[A#]
[G] Then a little slide from, when you have that chord here,
the third [Bm] string [F#m] and the [F] first string [B] are in.
[F] [F#m] [Em]
[F#m] [Em] [A]
[D] [E] [Bm] [A] [Bm] Those are the [E] same chords.
[C#] Then you go to a B7 chord.
[E]
[B] [A] [D] [A]
So the [B] standard bar, B7 chords, seven frets.
Ping doesn't do anything.
[E] And then you flatten your third finger.
He plays the second, third, and fourth string.
[B] [E] [B] [E] [E]
[A] [D] [A] Same with the chords.
[D] [G] [B] [F]
I'll do a little hit on the B6 chord.
So you add the little finger on the second string at the [G] ninth fret.
[B] [E]
[B] That's [A] [G] [E]
[Bm] a little [Em] fast.
[A] So after the A [G] chord, you [E] go a little hammer on an E chord.
And then you do those chords in rapid succession.
[Bm] [Bm] [C#m] [Bm]
Sort of, [G] you lift the chords [C#m] fast.
[Bm] [Bm]
Now [E] the right hand mostly plays with the three fingers.
[G] The first three [Em] strings.
[C#m]
[D] [F#m] [A]
[D] [C#m] [Bm] [Em] [Bm]
There it is, strings two, three, and [A] four.
[Bm]
[Am] [Em] Okay, [B] [A] [Em]
[Am] [A] [D] [E]
[Bm] [B] [E] [B] [A]
[G] [E] [A]
[Bm] [Am] [B] [E]
that's it for the first verse.
We'll do another lesson with the second
