I'm going to show you how to do a kind of cool A minor [N] blues progression.
It's only three chords.
First one is doing an A minor chord, [F#] fifth fret.
The first finger fires the first, second, third string of [F#] the fifth fret.
Third finger gets the fourth string, seventh fret, [Am] [F#]
which is where you have on that chord.
But then my thumb, you can reach it, I get, I reach over and get [D] the sixth string, fifth
fret with my thumb.
I [D#m] have a thing [Am] going.
I do a down, up, down.
[F#m] Then I go to the fifth string, fifth fret, and then I walk up to the seventh.
And [F#] then I get the [C#] third and the fourth string.
[C] [F#]
[E] [F#] [C#]
[C] And [E] [Cm]
I end [F#] up on the [Am] fourth string, seventh.
[D] [C] [Am]
[C] [Am] [C]
[Am]
[F#] This sounds to me nicer [D#m] on an electric guitar, using the neck [D] pickup, a nice clean [F#] sound.
So you do that for [Am] eight measures.
[C] [Am]
You go into measure [F#] one, two, and three, and four, and one, two, and three, [Am] and four, and one.
So do [N] that, eight measures.
And then you go to an F major seven [Am] chord, [F#] which is a barre chord [A#] up here at the eighth [F#] fret.
The first finger is the fifth string, eighth fret.
The third finger is on the tenth fret on the fourth string.
My second finger is on the ninth fret, [D] third string.
My pinky is on the tenth fret, second string.
And my index [B] is, which is barring across here, it's picking [F#m] up the eighth fret.
[Am]
[D#m] [Am]
Then I drop [D] it down to the seventh fret.
Keep that same shape, just take the middle finger off.
And I usually use that as my first [B] finger as a helper.
[E] [E]
Then I go back to [B] the riff for,
[Am] [C] [Am]
[F#] I'll play it through once.
Okay, first, [Am]
[Am]
third, fourth, fifth, [C] seventh, [Am] [A] eighth.
[F]
[E]
[C] [Am] [C] [Am]
[C#] And sometimes I'll [F] do a turnaround where I'm going from the F major seven to [E] E seven.
I'll do one measure of the [C] riff [Am] and [F#] hit it.
Then I'll go to an E seven sharp [G] nine, [F#] which is second finger on the seventh fret, [D] fifth string.
First finger is on the fourth [F#] string, sixth fret.
Third finger is on the seventh fret, third string.
And my pinky is on the eighth fret, second string.
[D]
[G#m] [Am]
[E] [C]
[Am] [F#] I [G]
[Am] [C] [Am] [F#]
have a YouTube video, it's called A Minor [G#] Blues.
And I was using it with a jam band that I had.
[F#m] [B] All right, thanks.
[F#]
