[F] [Bb] [F] Welcome to Flashback Favorites.
I'm Music Mike.
Thanks for joining me again.
Back in 1967, [N] Blood, Sweat & Tears was formed in New York City by Al Cooper.
They mixed together blues, jazz, and rock and some really cool horn arrangements to give us that classic Blood, Sweat & Tears sound.
In 1969, Canadian David Clayton Thomas replaced Al Cooper.
And then the hit started coming.
In 1972, David Clayton Thomas left and he was replaced by Jerry Fisher.
But in 1974, David Clayton Thomas returned and stayed long enough for this LP to come out that we're featuring today.
And single.
The album is called Brand New Day.
It's the only LP Blood, Sweat & Tears recorded for ABC Records.
The single is called Blue Street.
It did not chart at all on the Hot 100.
In fact, the album Brand New Day really didn't do that well for BS&T.
But I think you're really going to like it.
It is a cool song.
It's very moody and a bit bluesy.
Here it is, Blue Street.
