[Ebm] It's too easy.
[N]
[A] Hello, [B] I'm Nika, [Am] also known as Bella Jesus, and this is What's in My Bag.
This record is Daphne Oram, [N] basically the only record of Daphne Oram that you can find on Newbie Issue.
[F]
[Ab] [Gb] And she is a [E] very special [D] woman.
She not only invented her own synthesizer, but also created the BBC Radio Phonic Workshop,
which is [Db] known for [Ab] inventing sampling in some ways,
and also [E] creating the Doctor Who theme, which is her claim to [G] fame.
[E] [B]
[E] [B] [D] [Em] For me, the [G] claim to fame is Daphne Oram and Delia [E] Dribbishire,
two [B] very powerful women in the experimental [Bm] music industry, [B] electronic music.
But this record is [Gb] basically all the things she did within Oramix, which is a synth that she built.
And it's [E] currently, I just saw it in London at the Science Museum,
and it's on display there, so I got to look at it.
Couldn't play with it, [Eb] unfortunately, but [A] it's really amazing.
This one [Em] is Enema Soren, [E]
[A] a Swedish group of guys that make funny industrial music.
A little goofy, but [E] for some reason I've really gravitated towards finding [Gm] everything they've put out.
Because, I don't know, I [A] love it.
I love the sounds that they make and what they do with them.
But yeah, this record took me years [E] to find, because I lived in Wisconsin, I didn't know how to find it.
And now I come to Amoeba, and [A] it's just right there.
Love Los Angeles for that reason.
This record [Em] is, I actually don't know [Am] who Donald Erb is,
but [Ab] whenever I see a Nonesuch record like this, where [E] it's the picture, the writing, the little [Eb] icon logo,
and then just like that [E] template, I know it's going to be really good,
because it's usually electronic, early electronic experimental [Ab] music.
So, [F] good curators of early electronic [Eb] music.
[D] Here's [Fm] Luigi Nona, [Bb] who takes a lot of patience to listen [B] to, but it's worth your while.
Minimalist modern classical.
I don't know this [F] particular [B] work, but what I have heard of is he has also experimented with tape and electronics,
but he usually does piano, and this is a piano piece, and it's just really [Db] beautiful.
It shows you [C] in minimalism, [B] there is the most effectiveness [C] in emotion.
[B] Prodigy of Chaos and Noise, and All Things Menacing, Cherry [C] Point, Black Witchery.
[B] [N] Fine, fine, fine piece of work.
I'm very glad to see that there's a good Cherry Point section here in Amoeba.
Proud to say this is Angelino, also.
The last one, Herman Nietzsche.
He is a Viennese actionist from the 60s and today, and this is mostly the music from his actions.
I don't have this, I have a DVD of all of his actions, because a lot of them are filmed.
And he is just really into exploring ritualism and sacrifice,
[Eb] [Bb] and maybe a sacrilegious context, but also maybe in a religious context.
And it [F] can be pretty hard to watch and pretty brutal.
There's a lot of animal sacrifices and [Ebm] people getting naked and rubbing themselves [Bb] in the blood
and being in the nerves of the animals and things [Eb] like that,
and then throwing themselves against a white wall, [Bb] and that [E] kind of creates the art.
So it sounds pretty sick, [Fm] but I think it's [C] [Bb] intriguing that someone has chosen to do that.
But yeah, these are my things, [Gm] in all variations of what I enjoy.
And there's plenty of it here at Amoeba, which is very exciting for me.
[Eb] Oh [Bb] no, I forgot!
Oh, a little baby Gene.
He can be [Gm] there too.
Look at those shoes, [Eb] man, they're alive!
[Bb] Amoeba!
