Chords for Your Grace Is Enough - Chris Tomlin // Electric Guitar Tutorial

_ This week a friend of mine asked me for some help on the song Your Grace is Enough by Chris Tomlin.
See, he's the only electric guitar player at his church, and the actual song has multiple
electric guitar parts in it.
So what I did is I went through and pulled out all the hooks, all the main parts that
your ear expects to hear that'll really fill out the song, and made it one cohesive electric
guitar part to play all the way through the song.
So what you're about to see is a run-through.
I've got the actual song playing, and then I'm playing my electric guitar over the top.
It'll have a close-up of the electric guitar so you can see all the parts.
It's not going to be a full lesson, it's really just more of a play-through, so if you're
kind of already more an advanced guitar player, or even intermediate, it's pretty easy to
find the spots.
It's not a difficult part, but it really just kind of helps bring some clarity to what you
should be playing.
Before we get started [A] on that though, I do want to point out a couple things really quickly.
_ One is when you're playing the initial part, when you're playing the main lead part, you're
going to be doing all your work on the B string.
However, you are going to be strumming your open G string.
The song is capoed on the second fret, it's in the key of A.
If you want to play it in
the key of G, which I know a lot of people do because they like to bring it down a little
bit, lift that capo off and just do open, you can still use your open G string.
But basically, every time I'm strumming my _ _ _ B string, I'll also be strumming the G as well. _ _
So even though it's going to be kind of hard to see in the video, I just want to make sure that's clear.

_ _ _ [F#] Also, you're going to see me move up the neck here _ _ _ playing octaves.
Now, in the video, it happens pretty quick and my hands are moving pretty quickly, so
I just want to point out what exactly I'm playing there.
So when I'm playing my octaves and I'm doing that little melodic climb, my pointer finger
is going to be on what looks like the ninth fret.
It's actually, because we're using the capo, we'd actually call it the seventh fret.
But my pointer finger is going to be on that, on the D string, and then my pinky is going
_ two frets up and two strings over.
With my pinky, it'll be on the G string.
And those are the only notes that I'm playing.
So it's really just creating an octave.
So if you haven't done octaves before, that's what it is.
And as my hand moves, that position stays.
So basically, all you need to do is pay attention to where the pointer finger is and make that form.
