Hello guys, this is Abel of Stole Music,
and in today's lesson, I'm going to teach you
how to play this song called Jump.
It's really catchy, I'll be teaching you how to play
the instrumental motive that repeats throughout the song.
It goes like this, check it out.
Here we go.
[C] [F] [G]
[C] [F] [G]
It [C] repeats.
[F] [C]
[F] [G]
Okay, so let's get right into it, okay?
So it's not that difficult once [A] we learn
these notes on the right hand,
and then also that rhythmic pattern
that [N] actually goes through it, okay?
Anyways, here we go.
So let's learn the right hand first.
The only thing, the right hand is actually
the hardest thing to do, because you have to remember
all the chords on the right hand, okay?
[Gm] So it goes like [F] this.
So first of all, we have a G major chord [D] on the right hand,
starting on G here, middle C is here,
so it's G right here, so G, B, [G] D, triple note, yeah?
And then it goes to second inversion of C major triad
on the right hand, which is [C] G, C, E.
And then we go to F major triad,
which is F, A, C for [F] two times.
And then it goes to G major triad for two times,
which is G, B, D, [G] twice.
And then it goes G, C, E [C] again,
back to F major triad, [F] F, A, C,
down to second inversion of F major, which is C, F, A,
and then C major triad, C, [C] E, G.
And then we have this C suspension second,
which is [G] C, D, G, like that, okay?
And that's it for the right hand, so let's do it again.
So the main thing that's difficult is the right hand,
so you've got to practice it a lot, okay?
So it goes like this.
So G, B, D, G, [C] C, E, [F] F, A, C twice,
G, B, [G] D twice, and then G, [C] C, E,
and [F] F, A, C, C, F, A, [C] C, E, G,
and C, D, [A] G, like that.
And that's it for the right hand, [G] okay?
So like this, [C] [F] [G]
[F] [A] like that, so you've got to practice that, okay?
So that's the notes for the right hand.
Left hand is pretty simple.
[F] We have octaves, so remember if you can't reach an octave,
you can just do individual notes at the same time, okay?
[C] So it just goes C, down [F] to F, [G] and G.
So easy, there's actually just three notes on the left [E] hand.
Okay, so remember if you [C#] can't do an octave,
if you can't [C] reach it, just do C, F, [G] G,
as individual notes like that, okay?
But it sounds better with [C] heavier bass,
so do it as an octave, makes it more [F] intense.
Okay, [G] so [F#] once you get that two ends together,
it goes like this, so [C] left hand comes in,
right hand comes in, [F] [G]
[F] [D] and then the second [C] inversion,
F major with F [F] together,
and the last suspension [G] with the G together, like that.
So like that, [C] one more time, it goes here, [F]
[G] [F]
[G] like that.
Okay, now, very important [G] is the rhythm, okay?
So do it very slowly so you know how to do it, okay?
So it's not that easy as well,
because there's a lot of kind of like
subdivision of beats here, so it goes like,
so I'll do it very [C] slowly, it goes,
one, two, one, two, three,
one, two, [F] three, one, two, three,
one, [G] two, one, two, one, two, three,
[C]
one, two, three, [F] one, two, one, two,
[C] one, [G] two, one, two, three, four, five, okay?
Like that, okay?
[C] So yeah, like really like a lot of interesting
subdivision of beats,
but that's why it makes it kind of interesting, okay?
[F] It goes like this, so, a little bit [C] faster?
One, two, one, two, three, one, [F] two, three,
one, two, [G] one, two, one, two, [C] three,
one, [F] two, one, two, [C] one, [G] two, three, four, five, okay?
Just like that, awesome stuff, okay?
One [C] last time, it goes one, two, one, two, three,
one, two, [F] three, one, two, three, one, [G] two, one, two,
1, 2, [C] 3, 1, 2, [F] 3, 1, 2, 1, 2, [G] 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, like that.
Okay?
Yeah.
So yeah, just do it the first time, slow it down, and get those [A] rhythms correct, okay?
So when you spit faster, it just [C] goes like this.
[F] [G]
[F] [G] Like that.
So remember, if you can't count that good, what you can do is for the bass notes,
you can actually [D] tap the top note for the main color.
It helps you out for counting the left hand.
So you can [C] tap like that, so you can count for yourself.
[F] [C]
[G] Like that.
It helps you out, okay?
The top note [Dm] counting for you,
so you don't have to count in your head or count out loud, okay?
[C] So you're like, [F] [C]
[F] [G]
[C] [F] [C]
[F] [G]
[C] yeah, it even sounds really good like that,
[Em] that repeating note, okay?
Because it helps you [N] count, that's a benefit,
and also it does make it more interesting and makes the pulse more steady that way.
Okay, but anyway, that's pretty much it, so I hope you enjoyed this lesson.
A very simple, well not that simple, but like, it's a very easy to understand step-by-step lesson
and makes like something that normally some people think is very difficult,
makes [F] it very easy like this.

[F] [A] like that, so you've got to practice that, okay?

And then we have this C suspension _ second,

And that's it for the right hand, so let's do it again.
So the main thing that's difficult is the right hand,
so you've got to practice it a lot, okay?
So it goes like this.
So G, B, D, G, [C] C, E, _ [F] F, A, C twice, _
G, B, [G] D twice, _ _ and then G, [C] C, E,
and [F] F, A, C, _ C, F, A, [C] C, E, G,
and C, D, [A] G, like that.
And that's it for the right hand, [G] okay?
So like this, [C] _ _ [F] _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ [A] _ _ like that, so you've got to practice that, okay?
So that's the notes for the right hand.
Left hand is pretty simple.
[F] We have octaves, so remember if you can't reach an octave,

But it sounds better with [C] heavier bass,
so do it as an octave, makes it more [F] intense.
Okay, [G] _ _ so [F#] once you get that two ends together,
it goes like this, so [C] left hand comes in,
right hand comes in, _ [F] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
[F] _ [D] and then the second [C] inversion,
F major with F [F] together, _
and the last suspension [G] with the G together, like that.
So like that, [C] one more time, it goes here, _ _ [F] _
_ [G] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ _
[G] _ _ like that.
Okay, now, very important [G] is the rhythm, okay?

[C]
one, two, three, [F] one, two, one, two,
[C] one, [G] two, one, two, three, four, five, okay?
Like that, okay?
[C] So yeah, like really like a lot of interesting
subdivision of beats,
but that's why it makes it kind of interesting, okay?
[F] It goes like this, so, a little bit [C] faster?
One, two, one, two, three, one, [F] two, three,
one, two, [G] one, two, _ one, two, [C] three,
one, [F] two, one, two, [C] one, [G] two, three, four, five, okay?
Just like that, awesome stuff, okay?
One [C] last time, it goes one, two, one, two, three,
one, two, [F] three, one, two, three, one, [G] two, one, two,
1, 2, [C] 3, 1, 2, [F] 3, 1, 2, 1, 2, [G] 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, like that.
Okay?
Yeah.
So yeah, just do it the first time, slow it down, and get those [A] rhythms correct, okay?
So when you spit faster, it just [C] goes like this. _ _
_ [F] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ [G] _ _ Like that.
So remember, if you can't count that good, what you can do is for the bass notes,
you can actually [D] tap the top note for the main color.
It helps you out for counting the left hand.
So you can [C] tap like _ that, so you can count for yourself.
_ _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] _ _ Like that.
It helps you out, okay?
The top note [Dm] counting for you,
so you don't have to count in your head or count out loud, okay?
[C] So you're like, _ _ _ [F] _ _ [C] _
_ _ _ [F] _ _ _ [G] _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _
_ _ _ [C] _ yeah, it even sounds really good like that,
[Em] that repeating note, okay?
Because it helps you [N] count, that's a benefit,
and also it does make it more interesting and makes the pulse more steady that way.
Okay, but anyway, that's pretty much it, so I hope you enjoyed this lesson.
