[F] [Bb] to deal with marriage as an institution is [N] dying out, but I disagree.
And the point was driven home to me rather forcefully not long ago by a letter I received,
which said, darling, I love you and I cannot live without you.
Marry me or I will kill myself.
Well, I was a little disturbed at that until I took another look at the envelope
and saw that it was addressed to occupant.
Speaking of love, one problem that recurs more and more frequently these days
in books and plays and movies is the inability of people to communicate with the people they love,
husbands and wives who can't communicate, children who can't communicate with their parents and so on.
And the characters in these books and plays and so on, and in real life I might add,
spend hours bemoaning the fact that they can't communicate.
I feel that if a person can't communicate,
the very least he can do is to shut up.
One of the big news items of the past year concerned the fact that China,
which we call Red China,
exploded a nuclear bomb, which we called a device.
Then Indonesia announced that it was going to have one soon,
and proliferation became the word of the day.
Here's a song about that.
[D]
First we got the [C] bomb and that was [Dm] good, because we love peace [G] and [Bb] motherhood.
Then Russia got the bomb, but that's okay, because [A] the balance of power is maintained that [Eb] way.
Who's next?
France got the [Db] bomb, but don't you [Ebm] grieve, because they're [Ab] on our side, I believe.
[B] China got the bomb, but have no [Bb] fears, they can't wipe us out for at least five [Em] years.
[A] Who's next?
[Em]
[Em] Then [E] Indonesia [Em] claimed that they were gonna [A] get one any day.
[C] South Africa wants two, that's [B] right, one for the black and one [Fm] for the white.
Who's [Bb] next?
[Fm]
Egypt's gonna get one too, just to use [Ab] on you-know-who.
[C] So it's real, it's getting tense, wants one in self-defense.
The Lord's our [Db] shepherd, says the [C] psalm, but just in case, [Fm] we'd better get a bomb.
[Gb] Who's next?
[E] Luxembourg is next [Gb] to go, and who knows, [B] maybe Monaco.
We'll [D] try to stay serene and calm when [Dbm] Alabama [Db] gets the [G] bomb.
