So this is track was six was nine I
Was trying to mix this one night with with with Chaz and I couldn't get it, right?
So Chaz turned around to everybody's anybody got a rough mix copy of what Eddie did and no says yeah I have
Says get in a cab and go back to your house and get it that actually became the master because I could never get close
To the mix I'd have to give you a quick rundown of how we used to record you'd be recording on four track
Nellie all Jimmy stuff was four track you would record on four separate tracks.
You'd put the bass and drums on
Two tracks and stereo it then you put a get Jimmy's guitar and the guy vocal on the fourth track
You'd do that then you'd mix it [Eb] down to two tracks recorded across to another four track machine
But mix it down to two so you had two spare tracks
Then you would mix that down on so you end up playing on twelve tracks
But each time you have a mix [Db] everything down to two tracks
[D] [Eb]
[Gb] I [Ab] don't mind
[Db] if [Ebm] the [Ab] mountains
[Db] [A] Fill in the [Ab] sea
[Db] [N] Let it be
It ain't me
[Eb] [Ab]
[E] [Eb]
[E] [Eb] [Bb]
[Eb] Chaz [Bbm] [Gb]
and I [Eb] decided all right, we better figure out what we're gonna do with Jimmy's guitar
There's one track [Db] we have two guitars and that's it all the guitars on this one track.
It's Jimmy's rhythm and his lead
So [Eb] this is it
[Db]
[Eb] [Bb] We'll hear in a minute [Db] when the lead comes up.
We'll play that [Eb] but [Db] it's interesting that we have to reduce everything to these little
[Eb] [Ab] tiny [Db] little slots [Eb] Jimmy's vocal
[Ab]
[F]
[E] [N] I
Mitchell know to to two musicians on one track, but you gotta remember in the days of four track
Yeah, yeah, if there was a gap in the lead vocal you'd put a symbol
Tambourine over that gap, you know
So you'd have to put a booth in the studio for a singing to keep the separation from?
Something else you'd be over dubbing on the same track now.
There must have been an instrument lying around in the studio
I don't know where he found this but somehow he found a recorder
Which we all learn to play at school
Here's Jimmy freaking out
Recorder, which is great.
And of course I stick a lot of echo [Ebm] on
[Eb] [Ab]
[Eb]
Of course, the guys are stumping away like [N] mad sounds like
[E]
[N]
