Chords for That Heartbreaking Moment When Supertramp Had to Quit

_ _ In 2015, Supertramp announced a big tour.
That same year they had to cancel it because
their lead singer, Rick Davies, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
We talk about ending that band and if he talks to any other Supertramp members.
_ _ _ Well, taking out the fact that, of course, Rick had MM, _ _ what was your feeling when you knew_
At the time when you found out that Rick couldn't do it,
_ _ was the announcement that this is going to be it or we'll see how it goes?
_ Well, he didn't know _ _ and it was put across as being very [Gm] serious, which what it is.
So we
didn't even know, the rest of us didn't even know, oh crikey, [Am] is he going to survive this or what?
So it was just _ _ relief once we found out that he was _ [C] doing okay.
_ Disappointment at the time because
we had the tour booked _ [N] and seats had already been sold of places.
_ So that was disappointing
just on a _ selfish basis because it is nice to go out and play to people, you know, that's where we're at.
By the way, do you talk to any of the guys from Supertramp?
_ Yeah, yeah, I speak quite a bit with Bob _ and Dougie even.
_ _ _ Yeah, Dougie has _ a place that was
destroyed _ in Tortola with _ storms and wind and rain and _ hurricanes or whatever it was and he's recently
rebuilt it.
There was a story a few years ago that said he was dying, a story that said he
was dying.
They quoted a son, I think, of going, I'm going to have to go back home and look after my dad.
He did, he did.
He had a [A] son who was studying, _ I think, at [N] St Andrews in Scotland and he went back.
Yeah, Dougie got ill _ but he's better, he's better now.
I've actually forgotten what he had
_ _ but he had something quite serious.
It was about two or three years ago.
[Em] What would be like your top three of looking back?
I mean, it's weird when you ask an artist,
[Ab] like, for instance, I'll give you an example.
I found my journals from when I was [N] 15 years old
and I would write down my favorite albums of the year and most of it was just pure pop,
Love Will Keep Us Together and like I used to love that kind of stuff and then you mature,
your ears mature and you want, you demand more, hopefully.
So when I ask and then someone asked
me, what's your top 10 albums?
And I'll go, I don't know how to answer the question because
my mind is, should I pick these albums or do I still like these albums or the albums that I used
to like then?
So I always get mixed up with those kind of things but can you name your top three
albums from Supertramp?
_ _ _ _ Probably, yeah.
I would have to name, I don't know what order, I would
have to name Crown of the Century and I would probably have to name Breakfast in America
_ _ and the third one is a bit more _ difficult.
I could possibly say Brother Where You Bound but I might
say _ _ _ _ Crisis, although that seemed at the time just a collection of songs just
kind of thrown together but that's quite good too.
_ _ _ Hard, but two of them stand out, Breakfast and
Crime.
Don't Ever Leave Me is the brand new album from John Halliwell,
formerly of Supertramp.
I still don't say formerly because I can't accept the fact that the band broke
up in 2015 but you just just never know.
I'm always holding on to hope.
