[F#m] [E] Happy New Year!
We've prepared a little FAQ [A] video for you.
Enjoy!
Hi everyone!
[E] First of all, thank you so much for all your comments, likes and shares and all your support through the last [A] year.
In 2017 my channel has gained more than 180.000.00 [E] new subscribers. You guys are incredible! I apologize that I can't reply [A] to all comments and emails and that I can't answer all questions. In this video I will try to answer [G#m] some questions that keep popping up. So here we go. [F#m] [C#] How old are you? [G#m] I was [F#m] born in May 1999. Now I'll leave the rest to you. [G#m] When did you start [F#m] drumming? I [G#m] started drumming at the age of 10. Did [A] you have drum lessons? [E] Yes, I had one lesson per week for about 7 years. Some [A] month ago I joined the Drummers Institute in Krefeld, [E] formerly Düsseldorf, as a student for a one-year intense drumming degree course. Who is your favorite drummer? [A] I don't have one favorite drummer. I literally have dozens of favorite drummers. [E] If you want to know more, check out my videos. The choice of my covers may give you a hint. [A] Why are you making your channel in English? If we made the channel in German, [E] nobody would understand what I'm saying. Do you [C] play in a band? [D] Yes. [C] When I turned 18 I got my [D] driver's license and I joined a band in [C] Cologne the next day called The [D] Guess. [Am] We started rehearsing and writing for [D] our debut [Am] album Savage, which was recorded some [D] weeks ago. You [A] find all links below in the video description. [D] [C] [A] Will you play live? [D] Yes. We [G] played our first secret show two days before Christmas. [Am] And we [D] will do some [G] more gigs in [A] German. Please follow the [D] band's Facebook [A] page to see the details. [D] [C] [G] [D]
Does that mean [Bm] that your YouTube [A] channel will die? [E] No way! Where do you find your collaborators? [A] Meanwhile I get many requests for collaborations. [E] I also keep searching YouTube for young musicians. And there's one more resource that's just fantastic. [A] Namely an Instagram account called Top Vocalist. If you are interested in discovering young [E] singers before [G#m] they get famous or if you need a singer for any of your [F#m] own projects, take a look at Top Vocalist. [G#m] That's an amazing source of talent in so many [F#m] ways. The same [G#m] guys are running another Instagram account called Wow [F#m] Musicians. I'll put the links in the video description. [G#m] Where do you find your drumless tracks? [A] They are all open-face, really. [E] Just do a YouTube query for drumless tracks and you will find a lot. Is it legal [A] to cover copyrighted songs? Every copyright holder can decide to allow or not [E] to allow other creators to use their songs on YouTube. If they do allow, all [A] advertising revenue goes to the original copyright holders. That's the reason why I don't get [E] any money for my drum covers. So if I get millions of views for my drum cover of Sirens of Swing, [A] it's pretty good news for the original record company, not so much for me. [E] Some people think I make a lot of money with my YouTube videos, because they get plenty of views. [A] But unfortunately that's not true, as I just tried to explain. [C#m] How can I support [G#m] you? If you enjoy [F#m] my drum covers and you want me to keep them coming, you can [G#m] support me via Patreon, with as little as one dollar. [F#m] That's completely up to you. Patreon is actually [G#m] the platform that keeps my YouTube channel going. [F#m] So what's next? [G#m] Quite a bit. [A] I will keep posting regular drum [E] covers played on top of drumless tracks. I will keep collaborating [A] with other musicians and record covers from [E] scratch. Please note the difference. One of my main projects for 2018 will be She Might Too. [A] Just like my first original album, [E] this will be a common project with my dad and Rick Benbow, our arranger and keyboard wizard. We will invite musicians from all [A] over the world to contribute to the album and we are going to launch [E] one track after the other on my channel. So with your response to every song you can take influence in which direction the next songs will go. Will you marry me? Most likely not. Anything else? No. Have a great new year everyone. Peace and love as Ringo would [Am] say. See you then. [C#] [N]
