Whoops!
My guitar is broke.
[A]
[G#] It's a traveling guitar.
I got some trips to do, so I picked up a Voyage Air.
I can't tell you what a fantastic guitar this is.
Even just a normal [G] guitar.
[D] [A] [E]
You can see it's in tune.
[N] So if you take it out of tune, fold her up, she comes back in tune.
I like to do a Halloween classic around this time of year.
So [A] let's do it.
[F#] [D] [A]
[F#] [D] [A]
[F#] [D] [A]
[D] [E]
[A] [D] [E]
[A] [D] [E]
[A] [F#] [D]
[A] [F#] [D]
[A] [N] This song is not too difficult as far as the rhythm goes.
We'll talk about some ways to play it.
It starts out with an A, and then we're going to go to an A7.
So we're going to pick up our
I use my first finger on that third string.
That's what we have to pick up.
So we're going to [A] strum.
So we lift up and put back down.
Then we're going to go [D] to a D7 over F sharp.
[C] So what we're going to do, use your first finger on the second string, first fret.
[G#m] And you ring and pinky on the second [G#] fret of the third and [F#] first string.
That enables you to play that [D] bass note.
[A] [F#] [D]
[A] So you want to hit the bass note, and then the chord, and then off and back on.
[F#] That gives you time [F#m] to get your [D] fingers in place.
[A] [F#]
[D] [A]
[F#] [D] [N] So that's really the verse.
And [A] then as they start going into the chord, you're going to be playing an A, [D] a D, [E] and then to an E.
[A]
[D] [E] [A]
[D] [E] [A]
[D] [E] [A]
[F#] [N] And then you're [A] back into it.
[F#] [D] [A]
[F#] [D] [A]
[F#] [D] [N] There is a lead guitar part in this song.
And what he's doing, he's playing at the [A] A minor position.
[Cm] [Dm] And [N] he'll go up to the second position.
So what we're playing, A minor [A] 7.
[D]
[A] There's kind of a backing guitar in the background.
[D] [A]
[D] Then when they go into the [Am] chorus, you'll hear him go.
[D#] So [Dm]
[A] [D]
[A] [D]
[A] [D]
what [N] he's doing there, okay, we're going to start the lead out.
We're going to be playing at the 7th fret.
Stretch that up.
And hit the first, that's on the third string.
[D] And then hit the first string at the fifth fret.
[C] Then he takes and he goes from 8 up to [D] 10.
[N] And then go 8 to 10, that's on the second string.
And then 8 to 10 on the first string.
And then you're going to hit that with a bend twice.
[D#] And then third time, [C]
release to [Am] 8.
And then strike 10 on the second string.
So you have this.
[D] [D#] Then [D]
you hear him come [Am] back into the rhythm.
[D]
And he only hit the D7 [N] once and then he comes to this.
What we're going to do is play on the third string at the 7th fret.
[Cm]
To 5, to 4.
[B] [C] Then we're going to go back 5 to [D] 7.
[Cm] To the second [C] string at 5.
And then end up on the fourth [Am] string at 6.
[D]
[A] [D]
[A] [G#] Okay, that's consistent throughout the [C] lead part.
[A]
[D] [A]
[N] Alright, and then you'll hear him come back again during the second chorus.
[Am]
[D#] And
[Fm] all he does is he's going up to that 10 on the first string.
And keeps [D#] bending it up.
[D] [C] And then [G#] release and then you're back into it.
[D#]
[D] [A]
[N] Alright, so that's the lead for the song.
Really, it's not too difficult.
Jimmy Page played on this, so it's some Page licks that you can learn there.
And a great song to play this time of year.
I hope everyone enjoys it.
