This is an ongoing series on my channel where I listen to a song for the first time
Break it down and I'll share my thoughts with you in this video
We're going to be listening to the new song by Liam Gallagher from his upcoming album.
Why me why not?
And that song is called once let's get into it
[C]
Welcome [F]
[Em] back to the channel guys.
Thank you very much for joining me for [Am] another video
I'm really really glad to have you here and [C] this is the song that you guys have been asking me to review
Non-stop, so [Em] that's always a good sign.
So let's [Gb] get into it
[Ebm] [C] So right off the start there very simple guitar just simple
Strum strum strum.
I'm thinking maybe that's Liam playing it.
You never know
I've seen like lots of videos recently floating about of Liam playing guitar in the recording studio, especially in his
recent documentary
He's been picking up the guitar a little bit more.
So I wonder if it's him playing guitar on this recording.
Well, um
Waiting to see if that ever gets revealed
[Bbm] His voice is so [Bb] recognizable, isn't it?
[Abm]
[Gb]
[Ebm] I love the way he pronounces sort of like ooh
Sounds it's really it's such a Liam Gallagher thing, isn't it?
[Bbm] There we go peel
Such a such a Manchester accent, isn't it?
[Abm]
[B]
[Gb] [Db] It's really
Refreshing to hear Liam Gallagher sing a sort of laid-back and slower song.
I mean obviously he has got sort of
Slower songs on his catalog, but but this is really sort of acoustic and [B] stripped back like I know on his live shows
he's been doing sort of like acoustic versions of songs like live forever and Wonderwall which literally just him and his guitarist and
It's nice to hear that sort of on record.
So that's the chorus.
I was hoping
more sort of you know, the that course would rhyme a little bit better, but it still fits really really well and
Liam on this record seems to be doing a lot more of the songwriting and I'm gonna say his songwriting has
Drastically improved from the stuff you heard from BDI
So I'm really impressed with that so far
[Gb]
nice drums.
[Ebm] Oh
So we got some electric guitar
Subtle bass some drums.
Hopefully there's some strings coming in as well, which is nice to hear.
[Bbm]
[Abm]
[Gb] Oh harmonies again
[Ebm]
[Bb] [B] Here comes the chorus
[Gb] [Db]
[B] This is a really good chorus
[C] Like I'll be honest I wasn't keen on that first chorus because it just sounded very empty
I wanted it to sound [Gb] a little bit more fuller
But this one it sounds brilliant with the electric guitar the strings and the drums
It really makes the song pop if you know, I mean, and I'm really loving that
[Db]
[B]
[Gb] [Abm]
[B] [Gb] Yeah, I think that line you only get to do it once I
don't know it just seems to fit a lot better when the full [Ebm] instruments are in in the song now and
I'm digging this really really digging this is the bridge now.
[Gb] So keeping it simple nice.
[Ebm] [Eb]
[Gb] [Eb]
Oh
Tambourine that's gotta be Liam and
Some sort of bongo drums patting drums that sounded like that really really subtle, but if you listen carefully you can hear it
It's a nice reverb on the vocals as [Gb] well
[Eb] [Gb] It's weird.
It's sort [B] of it reminds me.
I hate to make that comparison
But it reminds me of something like of Noel Gallagher's second album, you know
He went a little bit psychedelic on on
On chasing yesterday and it really reminds me of that like like I said
I hate to make the comparison between those two, but it does remind me of that a bit.
[Gb] [Db] [B]
[Gb]
[Abm] I
Love the way he saw his phrasing, you know, it's classically again Liam Gallagher phrasing the way sort of shouts inspired at the end
it's just
Perfect [B] [Gb]
a nice fade out to finish
[Eb] Damn
Solid song now, like I said at the start you guys have been asking me to review that song for a while
It's been floating about on the internet, you know, we first heard that song in his latest documentary
[Bb] He's done it a few times live and there's been some leaked versions.
I know that I've tried to avoid [G] them
Because I tried to do these things on a first listen and I'm really impressed like it starts off slow
Nice simple guitar and then it all sort of starts to build up right where it needs to
strings come in drums electric guitar bass and
And it's really really good some nice harmonies there and it's just just classically a minute
Classically and and I can't wait [Fm] to hear what the rest of this album [E] sounds like it's the third song
We've got from the album.
Obviously we had shockwave and then the river and and each track has gotten better and better
I'm really impressed with this
Let me know what your thoughts are of this song in the comments below
