Let's see what else I got.
I don't know what I have here.
I'm trying these pedals.
That's more heavy.
[Bm] [G#] [D#]
[D] How come when I'm [Em] on show, they play only mostly, other than Dragonfly, they play only my cover [E] tunes?
What is that?
I've done [G] 27 albums of stuff.
I've got [Em] hundreds of tunes.
But why Purple Haze or King B or Johnny B.
Goode?
Why?
What was the reason [A] for that?
I could never figure that out other than [B] Dragonfly.
I mean, that's pretty [G] much what you heard on my own [B] hometown radio.
This goes way back to when I was 16 when I made my first album.
I remember sitting up when I was 17 years old and hoping that [Em] SHOME at the time would play my [N] record.
And literally sitting with the radio open, listening to see if it would come over the little [D] radio my mother had.
It never did.
You know, [B] I waited many years.
[Bm] And I know all the guys at SHOME.
[G] They're really good people.
They're friends of mine.
Kutal's been my friend.
He came to my wedding.
And he's probably the only guy that played some of the other stuff.
[C#] But I [B] thought, you know what I thought at the time?
I thought, well, it's probably [Bm] because we're not a vocal band.
That's what I actually thought.
I thought, wow.
Every other band that we hear [B] play, whether it was [G#m] Cochran or April Wine or most [B] of the Canadian acts,
or even some of the American acts, [Fm] it's always based on this kind of harmony vocal [Em] song.
You know what I'm saying?
Journey.
[E] This [G] is an original jam band.
This has been doing this since 1969.
And we're doing it with a 1969 light show.
We're a time machine, man.
[A] It's a weird band like that.
[Bm] It's almost like the Grateful Dead meets jazz or something.
[N] The key to being in my band is are you a good guy?
I don't care if you're a good player.
You have to be a good guy.
If you're a good guy, you can be [E] in the band.

[C#] My eldest [G] daughter just turned 17.
And I can honestly tell you, and I mean this very sincerely,
there has not been one single day, including today,
up to and including today since my first daughter [B] was born, that I haven't laughed at least once.
[N]
Money doesn't mean anything to me.
I'm a very religious guy, so money doesn't mean anything to me.
It means feeding the kids, making sure they have clothes, making sure they go to school,
but I don't want yachts and boats.
I don't even own a house.
I rent.
We're not curing cancer here.
We're [F#] a bunch of people who are being actually paid money to play an instrument and to do what we like.
[G] Look, I'm 56.
I never went to high school.
I did [F#] not have to have a high [F#] school teacher tell me what to [B] do.
[G] So can I complain?
[G#]
So what?
So I didn't make millions of dollars?
Even if I'd have made the millions of dollars, I'd probably have given it away anyway.
That's the [F#] way I am.
I [B] can't hold a dollar.
It just runs out of my hand.
