[Em] Today we're just [Am] going to [F#m] have some fun.
I've been treating this [G] channel [D] like a job lately,
and I haven't really been focusing on what interests me.
[G] Doing that has led me to [A] burnout
multiple times in the past 8 months, [F#m] and a lot of my videos haven't been as good as they could
have been as a result of [G] that.
Anyway, [F#m] my personal favorite tutorials [Bm] I've done on this channel so
[F#m] far have been my lo-fi tutorial, [Bm] vapor trap tutorial, and my emo trap [A] tutorial.
I was born
in [D] the 90s, so something about that lo [B]-fi, vinyl, VHS glitchy, [E] nostalgic [D] vibe really [F#m] speaks to me.
In this video, I'm going to aim to create a lo-fi trap instrumental, with a vaporwave [G] inspired
melody, and then [A] rap over it.
[G] I'm intending to [F#m] create a full length track here, about 2 minutes
in length, and I'll [G] upload it to [A] Spotify as well.
I've been meaning [Bm] to do something like this for a
[D] while now, since a common comment on my channel has been along the lines of, why don't you just
try to be a rapper and release full songs.
Part of the reason I haven't really [F#] done that has just
been due to creative blocks.
[G] I'll start working on a track, [D] I'll want it to be good, unique, and
interesting, [G] and when that doesn't happen, I lose interest, trash it, and move on to my next from
scratch video.
But for this video, I'm just going to [D] make whatever I make, release it, and if it
sucks, whatever.
[E] I've released [F#m] enough garbage over the past year or so [G] that I'm pretty comfortable
with being [F#m] called trash now.
Let's get into the cook-up.
I [G] opened up this preset in keyscape,
and I'm going [F#m] to lay down a melody.
My goal here is to create a vibe that feels like
going to the mall in the 80s on a rainy day, or something along those lines.
Something nostalgic,
laid back, and a little ambient.
[Dm] Here's what I came up with.
[Am]
[Dm]
[Am]
[Dm]
[Am] [Cm] I'm going to add a VHS effect
to the melody with Reaktor 6.
I don't own Reaktor, so I'm just using the trial version here.
I'm going
to scroll through presets until I find one that I like, then I'll export it to a WAV file so I don't
lose it when the timer on the Reaktor trial expires.
Here's what the final melody sounds like.

I added some [Cm] effects to
give it a more lo-fi aesthetic.
Isotope vinyl, EQ, and [Gm] reverb were used.

sounds like now.

[B] [Am]
[Bm] I added a clap.
I'm going to EQ [N] out some of the highs to maintain that lo-fi vibe.
I made this hat pattern.
I laid down an open hat.
I made this kick pattern.
I added a snare.
I laid down a crash.
I made this 808 pattern.
Here's what the drums sound like all together.
[D] Alright, now it's time to write some lyrics and lay down some vocals.
My vocal mixing here is the
same as always, except I will [A] cut out a bit more of the lows than usual, because it's a lo-fi type
track and I think that that sounds best with this sort of vibe.
[D] Hopefully by the time this video is
finished being edited and uploaded, the song will be live on Spotify.
[A] I'll leave a link to the song
in the description section and pinned comment below.
I'm interested to see how the song performs.
If you like it, add [D] it to a playlist or whatever, and if you think it's trash, feel free to let me
know how ashamed of myself I should be.
With all of that out of the [A] way, let's see what we've come up [Dm] with.

You sound like me in a vent, you ain't [Am] nothing but a f***ing sight, yo.
Pull up the tip, you get the pick, [Dm] this ain't no slideshow.
I been like 20 [Am] Xans in advance, I put that b**** in a trance.
F*** all these industry plans,
bout to [Dm] light them up like they was some lamps.
Stay in my lane, running that [Am] game, b**** just come out of pants.
Taking them off, f***ing the raw, [Dm] this ain't a back to romance.
I'm like your pig, get your brain.
[Am] Pick up the stick and I aim, he on a mission for fame.
[Dm] I'm about to give him a name.
Slashing his whip in a [Am] chain, b**** I be dripping insane.
Struggle with infinite pain, [Dm] sniffing the brick of that cane.
Sick of these [Am] hoes, he milling me.
Snapping like broke and celery.
I make the quality music, [Dm] even in low fidelity.
Putting my time, f*** up my [Am] mind with all of the dope they selling me.
Y'all can just hate, that's a mistake.
[Dm] Bitch be showing me your jealousy.
Shake up the ice, [Am] froze, f***ing on ice hoes.
Smoke and I hydro, [Dm] I gotta light, low.
You tryna meet a vent, you ain't [Am] nothing but a f***in sideshow.
Pull up the clip, you get the [Dm] pick, this ain't no slideshow.
