[Abm] Hey, what's up [Gb] guys?
[C] [G]
Here [N] to do another lesson this time for Little Red Rooster
Wanted to
Show you the way I was just watching Stone's video where they were playing on Ed Sullivan.
They were playing Little Red Rooster and
Brian
[G]
[N] Was playing it in standard tuning
Because I don't think they I don't think they used open G back in 1964 or 65
And I was watching the way Brian was playing it [Ab] and he was playing in the very beginning change where [A] you're going from
[D] [C] You're going from a C
[Bb] to B [G] flat
to
G
[N] And I'm not sure if they play on the album in open G or standard or what but the way Brian was playing it on the show
he was playing a
kind of a C5 shape
and what I mean by that is with your pinky you're gonna you're gonna
I'm gonna put your pinky on [C] the eighth fret of the high E
So and your first your [N] first finger is going to be barring the first four strings your pinky is gonna be at the [C] eighth
We'll get [Bb] down and [G]
then when you let off to the [Ab] G you're just gonna play the
[D] [G] D and G strings mainly and
[C] [G] then you're gonna slide down to the 12th
[N] And on the 12th
with your picking hand you're gonna be playing the
[G] D G and B strings sometimes [Ab]
more [B] of the G and the B
[G] Slide down [C] and [G]
when the verse starts
[N]
You're gonna slide down to the to the fifth fret which is [C] C
I'm a little red rooster
[G] Too lazy
[F] [G] [A] You go back to that
[C] [Bb] [C] Those chords [Bb] [G] and
Then you're gonna [Gb] go come up to a D which is seventh fret
[Bm]
And again, you're gonna focus [Ab] on mostly the G and the B
D strings with your with your picking hand
[G] And you're gonna work down [Db] [C] back to the C
[Bb] [G]
[Bb] [G]
[N] I think he's also that's the main the main riff that he's doing
And that's mostly all there is to the song, but I think he he plays some other he goes further up the neck
like this
[G]
[Ab]
[N] Something like that.
I'm not sure exactly
what what he does there, but um I
Just wanted to show you you know that that [B] change in [C] standard
[G] Does it sound I mean [F] those chords sound really really full and good and when you're switching to the [Ab] D D
[Bm] You could
[G] [E] Most likely you're gonna like to [D] slide
[G] Down to that D, [N] but you could also
Once in a while just play the like the D5 [D] shape
Move that down
[C]
[Bb] [G] All right, [Gb] and those chords sound those chords sound really [D] good
[C] [Abm] see I'd be more likely to play the courts, so I'm not a very good slide player, but
[Ab]
[D] Anyway, I just [C] thought I
[Bb]
[G] Thought I would share that [N] since I you know something I noticed about [A] Brian's playing and
[Fm] [G] It's just a way to play it [N] in standard
All right, so I hope I hope that
