[Db] [Ebm]
[Db] [Eb] [Gb] [Db] We're in [Ebm] Cambridge recording at Headline Music [Db] Studios.
[Eb]
I wanted [Db] to do it in England [Ebm] with my own band this time
Because on my last album I used [Gb] Session Musicians and I [Db] had a great [Eb] opportunity to produce [Abm] the album with my bass player
Roger Innes [Db] and myself and Mr.
[Eb] Neary Linton on drums
And we really did [Gb] a lot of [B] touring last year, so we really got on well and thought it was right to do a record
[Eb]
[Fm]
It's great to be in the studio and throw different ideas out there, but [Db] we did a lot of pre-production for the album as well
So we kind of had [Eb] a background of what we were going to do
[Fm] We just come in the [Db] studio and that's where we got to experiment with different guitar sounds
You know, [Cm] Lesley pedals and all different kinds of pedals and bass [Fm] sounds and drum sounds
[Db]
[Bb]
[Eb] I think because Lawrence came with some great [Ab] songs this time of week, the [Eb] material was really strong
[Bb] So it just made it a lot easier, [Cm] it was a lot easier to understand [Ab] what he wanted to do
And [Eb] because we'd been working together for so [Bb] long, I had a good idea, well I thought I [Eb] had a good idea of what Lawrence had in mind
When you hear the album you will hear that kind of connection from it
[Db]
We had a lot of fun, we did a couple of months [Ab] of pre-production, [B]
figure [Db]
out what to play, we had a couple of practice sessions also
And then we came in, [C] we got a great engineer, we got a good vibe in the studio, it was just [Ab] lots of [Bb] fun
This is a PRS Custom 24 guitar, two humbuckers
Basically they sent me this, kindly of them, to try in the studio to get some different sounds for my album
They also sent me the Custom 50 amp and a 2x12 cab
It's just a really [Eb] good guitar, it's completely different sounds from the Strat
You know, it's a lot more powerful, you [Db] can still roll [Eb] the tone back and get [Bb] the same sort of [Db] sound
I think it's got [Eb] that, from the air to the ground
[Bb] Well [Gb] [Ab]
[Eb] [Ab] [Eb]
we've [Gb] already got 180 [Ab] shows booked [Eb] for this year, touring all [Gb] around Europe [Ab] with [Ebm] Roof Records
And we've got a very [Ab] special [Ebm] show on the 15th of June at the Royal [Ab] Albert Hall
[Gb] In aid of Lead Belly with Jools [Ab] Holland, so [Eb] it's going to be a really [Gb] good year
[Ab] [Eb]
[Gb] [Ab] [Eb]
