[Dbm] [B] [Ebm]
[D] [Ebm] [Gb]
[Em] Well, my main [Eb] sound that I like to use [A] is the Royal [G] Blue Overdrive by Mad Professor.
So basically, I'll show you an example of what it does.
It just thickens the sound up a little bit.
It doesn't really add major gain or boost to it.
It just makes it more rounder.
So this is just the amp.
[Gb]
[Gbm]
And [G] then the pedal.
[A] [Gb] [Gbm]
[Em] [Bb] [Dbm] [G]
Yeah, so it's really nice.
So then, I always leave that pedal on all the time.
That's my secret trick, I've just told you all.
And if I want to add a boost on top of that, I've got something called the King of Tone by Analog Man.
And that's a pedal that's got two tube screamers in one.
So if I hit one of them as a boost, and if I want to get real crazy, I can hit the other side.
[N] So
[Gb]
[G] That's where the first [Eb] boost starts.
[Gb] [Eb]
I hit the second boost now.
[E] I [Gb]
[Ab] [Eb]
[Gb] [Ab] [Eb]
[Ab]
[Eb]
[Fm] like to keep it quite simple, so that is all I use as a distortion sound.
And then I've got a few little things on top.
I've [N] got a Polytune tuner.
It's as simple as just does what it says, it tunes the guitar.
Which I sometimes need, because I constantly get the whammy bar going out of the [Gb] mic.
So [Ebm] [F] [G]
it comes in handy.
I've got just a standard Crybaby wah, which is really nice.
[Fm] [C]
[Eb]
So [Abm] [C]
[Eb] yeah, I like it.
I've tried a few different wah-wahs, and [Ab] they always break after a while.
So this one seems to not be broken on me yet.
And then on my new album that I've done, I've added a couple of tracks.
I used something called a Micro Pog, which is kind of like an octave pedal,
but a more modern octave pedal, as I would describe.
So I'll give that a blast for you.
[C] [Gb]
[Ab] [B] [Gb] [Am] [Abm]
[Eb] [Ab]
[Abm]
[F] [Gb] [Db]
[Ab] [Abm]
[Ab]
[Db] [Ab]
[G] [Fm] [E] [Eb] [N]
Cool.
And then I've got two more pedals that I use on the board.
I use something called a Neon Ventilator.
It's probably my most expensive pedal.
Neon Ventilator 2.
I think that's something like 350 quid, along with a King of Tone pedal.
But that's my favourite pedal.
And on this pedal it's a [Em] Leslie, so it's got a slow speed and a fast [Abm] speed on there.
[Gb] [Abm] [Gb]
[Abm] [Gb]
[Abm] [Db]
[Abm]
[Gb] [B] [Gb]
[Db] [C] [Db] So it's really nice, because you [E] can change the setting of if you want the cabinet to go round which way.
And I've got it set up at the moment like a phaser, so it doesn't sound like a Leslie.
And then this is the fast setting [Eb] speed.
[Bbm] [Bb] [Ab]
[Eb] [Ab] [Eb]
[Bbm] [G] [E]
[Eb] Cool.
[G] [Ab] [Bbm]
[Db] [Ab]
[Eb] [Gb]
[Fm] [Ab]
[Eb] [Bb]
[N] So it beats carting around one of them.
Big Leslie pedals.
And then my last pedal on my board is another Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay pedal.
And I'm lucky enough to be endorsed by Mad Professor.
And I think they're really great pedals, keep it really simple.
No fancy things, normally three to four knobs on each pedal.
This one's just got a level, repeat and delay.
And the Royal Blue Overdrive has just got volume, bass, treble and drive.
The way I like it, because I don't want so many knobs on the board.
So this is just a delay.
I normally set it quite long when I'm doing the slow blues.
