So, uh, you know, a lot of people have asked me,
why haven't you done a concert, you know, before this?
You know, you've
people know who you are, you should do concerts more.
And, uh, I can be honest with you, the fact is that I have always been sort of terrified of these things.
Uh, I love acting, I love being other characters, as you can see from my opening little bit,
which was not a very exaggerated version of my actual [C#] college audition.
Especially not the mom part, that was totally true.
[N]
And, uh, and so I love coming out and just taking risks and get to live life through other characters,
and being someone else, and you get to sort of go places that you never allow yourself to go in everyday life.
So the idea of coming out on stage as me was like, well that's kind of boring, that's kind of dumb,
like, what do I have to say?
But then I realized, maybe I do have something to say,
and so I finally bit the bullet and I actually buckled down and now I'm here doing these concerts.
And since I'm here, I'm not really one to half-ass things, so I'm gonna go all the way,
and in addition to burying my soul out on stage, I'm gonna sing a few songs that I wrote.
Oh!
Wow!
Which, let me tell you, three weeks ago he played these for me,
and he was shaking in his room too nervous to play them for me.
And so, this is Betty.
In addition to having good hands, he's also very sweet and kind.
And you can open up to him anytime, he's just always there for you.
Ben Rahman, gentlemen.
So, the first one that I'm gonna play for you is called Good Enough,
and it's a song that I wrote when I decided that I was gonna be doing these concerts.
And it basically expressed exactly how I felt in that moment,
and I think I wrote kind of what I kind of needed to hear for myself.
So, this is Good [G] Enough.
[B] Oh, and I hope you like it, and if you don't, just line my face and say it's [Em] great.
[G]
I'm not good enough [D] to sing my own love
[C] So I'll sing you something you [A]
won't [G] buy
I'm not strong [E] enough to reach inside my heart
[C] And break off a part [A] of it to show
Am I good [C] enough?
[E] No
I'm [G] not
[Em]
[G] Feels [D] like I'm [C] required
[E] Constantly inspired
I [G] have some soulful sweet [C] desire
[F] To show [N] the world my mind
