I'm Nick Harcourt and we're here with Jay Maskis.
Can you describe the feeling that you got when you first started playing?
When I first started it was, I felt kind of frustrated I guess,
because I'd come off playing drums and I was trying to get the guitar
to have the same dynamics and impact as the drums
and it just sounded really wimpy in comparison.
So I really struggled with trying, and I didn't have enough money
to buy a bunch of amps and stuff, so I just kind of struggled
with my sound, I guess I didn't really know.
My friend was a great guitarist and he said I had a terrible sound
and I was just kind of trying to figure it out and just trying to get it
to be as satisfying as playing drums somehow.
So I decided to use effects for dynamics and volume also,
just to try to get the same impact.
Can you tell us about the song Get Me?
Yeah, that was a while ago.
It's a bit fuzzy, now it's back in the 90s,
and I guess it's kind of, of course, voicing some disappointment
with some relationship, those lines.

[G] I don't [D] see you, I [C] won't call you
I [E] don't know enough [B] to stall you
[C] Was it me, was [A] it all [Em] you?
Guess it's [G] on and on
All night, baby, [D] I'd show you
[G] What's the least of all I [Bm] go through
[C] But the thing is, I [A] don't know [Em] you

Cause you [A] won't show, [C] and it's [G] on and on
Every time I try [C] to fight it
It's [D] so hard to seem [Bm] excited
[C] If you don't turn [A] out [Em] bad, and it's on and [C] on
[G] [D] You're not gonna get me through [C] this, are you?

[G] [D] Any time I'm [C] there to show you

[A] Leaving me [Em] screwed, and it's on and [G] on
Every [D] dream shot [C] by daylight
And I [D] pray, maybe, [B] that you're right
