Dixie, can you show us some more finger picking styles?
I know I've heard you play Wildwood Flower.
That's so pretty.
Well, that in fact probably is a doorway to learn your finger picking guitar.
And Cher's the same thing, alternating bass.
And what Maybell did is [C] like alternating bass,
but with a brush down in between [Bb] instead of a finger picking style which [C] would go
Her style was very simple.
I play the Wildwood Flower with that style.
[G]
[C] [Em] [G]
[C]
[G] [C] Cher's this alternating bass, [G] you see how that never stops.
So if you wanted to go into finger picking here, it would be
[F] [C] [G]
[C]
See, I've got the alternating bass going.
I
[F] [Em]
[C] think what you've got in Wildwood Flower is that it implies chords.
There's not a whole lot of actual chords in it.
But it implies an F chord, which would go [F] here.
And a G7 chord, [G] which would
[C] go
But it actually just runs on the strings.
[G] [D] [G]
[C]
[D] [C]
[Am] [C]
[G] [C] [G]
How cool is that?
I [Eb] do a lot of video watching and studying that.
[C] Fantastic.
Remember this.
Do this first.
Then you can go right into finger picking.
It gives you the same rhythm.
[E] [F]
[C] [G] [C] Like this.
In fact, in my finger picking, I sometimes throw this in there.
[Fm] [G] [C]
Wow.
Super.
