[Em] Hi guys, this is a tutorial on how to play the main theme from The Last of Us.
I recommend that you download the [F#] tabs before we begin and the link to [Em] download them is in the description below.
So that's where you'll [F#] find them.
So to start off [E] you're going to be [G#] playing the G string, [A] B string and E string using [G#] the three fingers.
You're going to be [Bm] using your thumb, your first finger and your second [G] finger.
[Em]
[F#] But instead on the G string it's going to be on the twelfth fret [G] [A] and then you're going to play [G] that [Em] eight times.
[G]
[B] So for the next part you're going to be using the same three fingers, thumb, first and second.
And you're going to be playing the [Bm] same strings but the fret on the G string is going to change.
So it's [Em] going to be twelfth, fourteenth, [F#] [Em] eighteenth and twelfth, fourteenth [B] and [Em]
again fourteenth, [F#] [Em] twelfth, fifteenth, fourteenth and then a slide from seven.
[Bm] So this is what it should sound like.
[F#] [Em]
[F#] [Em]
[C#] So this time on the right hand you're going to be using all your fingers apart from your pinky.
And on the left hand it's going to be an E in the bass for the first part, ninth fret on the G string and [Em] tenth fret on the E string.
[Bm]
[E] So then it's going to go to an A bass and move down a fret on [F#] the E string.
[Am] Same again.
[E]
And an E in the bass again and down a fret on the E.
[Em]
[B] [Am]
[Em] [E]
[B] So for this part the right hand is going to be the same.
You're going to be on the fifth fret on the G string and the E string.
The B is going to be [G#m] open and there's going to be an A bass.
[F#] [F#m]
[Am] [A] And you're going to play this four times.
For this [C#] part the right hand is going to be the same again.
But it's going to be almost like a D7 shape.
[D#] And you're going to have [B] the third fret on the E string, first fret on the [C#] B string and second [Am] fret on the G string.
[Am] You're then going to move down on the E string a fret each time.
And then move back up.
[B] Again [G#m] the right hand is going to be the same for this.
But it's going to be a fourth fret on the G string, third fret on the E string.
The B is going to be [Bm] open and then [Em] you're going to play the E open afterwards.
And you're going to play that four times.
[N] And now for the chord section.
[G#m] The chords are going to be [F#] a variation of a [C] C.
And [E] then we're going to [Em] have a variation of a G as well.
With a hammer on on the A string [A] on the second [G] fret and pull off.
[F] And a B minor chord.
[Bm]
[B]
[D#] And this will be the strumming pattern so try and strum along.
[C]

[G] [A] [Em]

[Em] [C]
[Em] So guys that's all the parts for the Last of Us main theme.
[F#] For [Em] the ending just repeat parts one and two and just revert back to the tabs if you have any trouble with it.
I recommend that you download the [F#] tabs before we begin and the link to [Em] download them is in the description below.
