Hey guys party Marty here easy guitar tunes
I've got another request from a few of my subscribers for Otis Redding [N] sitting on the dock of the bay
Great great great song [Gb] glad you guys requested [Eb] this
It's a little more involved because it's got seven chords in it
But I've tried to condense it kind of eliminate the [Bb] bar chords keep it all above the fourth fret
And I hope you [Ab] guys really enjoy this one.
This is one of my favorite tunes goes over well at any [G] function
So hope you guys like it the chords to it are G
There's a [B] B7 which is a great great blues chord.
There's [C] a C
[A] There's an A
[E] There's an E
There's a [D] D
And there's an [F] F.
You play F like that or you can play it [Bbm] the bird F
Whatever you want.
It's [Eb] up to you totally preferred
There's also chord charts there if you want to go to what you want to click on any help that you [G] need with chords there
You can go to click on the the link there to help you the chords again.
We'll go through them in their G
B [B] 7 [C] C a
[A] [E] E
[D] D
[F] and F
[Eb] Now going from the C to the a I do a little kind of a neat little run.
[C] It's very simple
It's just a C the whole C chord and you lift the third finger
[G] You jump the second finger up a string to the second [B] string from the top in the second fret
Right and then you play your hand so it's just a C
a
C run a
[G] C run a very simple [C] C run a
Or you keep it in the seat.
Just just move the middle finger C [E] run
So it just kind of makes it sound a [F] little better
I also play this with a slaps drum now the slaps drum is optional you [N] guys
It's just kind of the way I like to play it
I find it gives it kind of a sexy drumbeat as you're playing this tune
Which is a very kind of a it's kind of a groovy tune I find this last run helps
However, you can just use the chords and strum through so with the strum demonstration what I'm going to do
I'm going to try to slow it down for you
I'm going to play a little with the slap drum and a little with them just to let you know that you can play with
You know just optional you don't have to do it
You can click on the link to the slap from there gives you a basic example of what it is
I'm doing but I'm really just muting the strings to make a drumbeat.
So what kind of goes like this?
Slow it down the best I can for you.
It kind of [G] goes
[B] [C] [A]
Something [G] like that right [B] [Em]
[A] now the way with [G] those [B] still sounds great, [C] right?
[A] [G] [B]
[C] [A] So [N] again, you can do either you can do or I just did my preference
I like to kind of make it my own a little bit and I find this last run helps but definitely not mandatory
So it's up to you guys
Anyway, practice that strum a little bit practice those chords through and as the chords get different in the song
It's still the same kind of strum pattern all the way through
So all you to do is practice that a little bit and then join us for the summer
So if you guys enjoy this Otis ready, talk to the mate
[G] Let's give her a go
[B] [C]

[G] Sitting on [A] the dock of the bay
[G] Wasting time
I left my home Georgia
Headed for [A] the Frisco Bay
