Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here, GuitarJams.com.
Heavily requested song here.
I'll admit I'm feeling a little old these days.
Not hip to what the young kids are listening to.
But anyway, a lot of requests for this so I checked it out and it's great.
It sounds beautiful and it's a nice easy one.
I'm doing it easy style.
So we're going to zoom in and I'm just going to break it down.
It's all easy chords.
One bar chord.
Don't be scared.
One bar chord.
And then hopefully you'll be able to get it down.
Also if you want to get more into guitar, you know what I'm saying, GuitarJams.com,
that's my site and I have a bunch of structured lessons that will help you progress and really
learn the instrument.
You can actually click the link down there and you can do a free trial.
You can try the site for free for three days and just see if you get something from it.
And I appreciate it.
So anyway, let's zoom in and do it.
Alright so lots of easy beginner chords except for the one bar chord.
So this is actually a perfect song if you're trying to implement your bar chords into your playing.
And that's kind of like this cusp that you get to as a guitar player where you're like
playing open chords comfortably but you're trying to break on through to the other side
into that bar chord zone.
So anyway, here we go.
We got a verse and we got a chorus and that is it.
So here we go.
The verse is E minor.
So that's second fret, second fret.
To a C chord.
Ring finger [C] on that third fret of the A.
Plug in that C chord.
Then we've got the D chord which is as in Tenacious [D] D.
So we play that D tenaciously.
And then we've got the bar chord which is B minor.
You bar the second fret and then with the rest of your fingers you make it look like
an A minor but up a whole step.
[B] Thus A, B, A, B, C, D, E, F, [Bm] G.
So there's the B minor.
And then the next time through it repeats but no B minor.
It just holds D for twice [Em] as long.
So you got E minor, [C] C, [D] and then D, D.
So [Em] E minor.
[C] [D]
[Bm] [Em] [C]
[Em] And so let's get a little rhythm going.
But once again, E minor, [C] C, [D] D, B [Bm] minor, E [Em] minor, [C] C, [D] D for twice as long.
[Em] So we're gonna go down, down.
[Em] [G]
[C]
[Em] [C]
Then you switch.
So down, down, down, down, up.
Down, down, down, [Em] up.
Down, down, [C] down, up.
Up, down, down, [Em] up, down, up.
Down, down, down, down, [C] up.
Up, down, down, up, down, up.
[D] Down, down, down, down, [Bm] up.
Down, down, up, [Em] down, up.
So same thing for both sets of [C] chords.
[D] Down, down, down, [Bm] down, up.
Up, down, down, up, down, [Em] up.
Down, down, down, up, [C] down, up.
[D] Down, down, down, down, up.
Up, down, down, up, [Em] down, up.
So just see if you can play that along with me.
Because basically, the chorus, which is even easier, you can just do that, start with that
same rhythm concept.
And you can vary it.
But so, E minor, [C] C, [A] D,
[Bm] E minor, [Em] E minor, [C] C, [D] D.
And now [B] with that same rhythm, [C] we're going to do C, [G]
G, so C to G, same rhythm as the other part.
[D] D to [Em]
E minor.
So, [C] C, [G] G,
[A] D, [Em] E minor.
And [C] then the next time through, [G] C, G, hold that [D] D.
Again, [C] C, [G] G, [D] D, [Em] E minor, [C] C, [G] G, [D] D.
And those are the two [Em] parts.
[C]
[E] [Bm] [Em] [C]
[D] Next part.
[C]
[G] [Em]
[C] [G] [D]
[B] And you know, on that D chord, don't be afraid to do a little pinky [D] time on that third fret high E right there.
[B] Have fun and good luck.
[Am] Alright, that was it.
Hopefully it wasn't too challenging for the beginners out there.
Real fun to play.
Also, you can try my actual website.
I know it's crazy.
I actually have a website or a dot com.
Go down there, you can check it out, try it out, all that stuff.
Thanks for hanging out and
