Start Jamming...
Hey everyone on YouTube today I'm going to be teaching you guys how to play for the love of you by the Isley Brothers
And I just gave you a quick run-through at the start just to give you an idea of how it sounds
[G] So on the intro starting out there's a little instrumental bit and it goes like this
[Bm] So
[F#] [Bm]
what I'm doing there is I'm [G] playing a G [B] F sharp B [F#]
F
sharp E A sharp
[B] and B minor
[G] Basically a G major 7 chord rolled
[F#] F sharp 7 [B] to B minor
On the right hand is going
B [D] [E] D [Bm] E F sharp
I'll do the same thing
[D]
little trill there
between the D C sharp and A
See [F#m] that then just do um
So [G] it goes
Then [Bm] [F#] [Bm]
once you did that twice you're gonna go into the first little bit
It's [G] like a a sus chord
So [Em]
[F#m] [G] [D] what we're doing there is going
[G] hitting that chord
[D] Just like A [G] D G B D
Then [A] [D] just going down these notes A [G] G [A] F sharp D
[D] [G] then [A] we're going to go up from [F#m] F sharp in the bass and A C sharp in E and
[G] Then we're going G B D and [F#m] F sharp
[G] [F#m] [G]
[D] okay, [G] so
Do
[A] [G] [D] [G]
[D] a D major 7 and then when I'm on it's on the G major 7 for I mean D major 7 for so long
I just play like any notes from
[A] You can play on the a [F#m] pentatonic scale
which is like
And [D] all that sounds good.
There's even a little fill
recording that sounds like that and then once you and then once you're on that for two measures you [Bm] come down and [A] then
[G] There's a little [Bm] keyboard [A] thing
[G] [Bm] like
F D.
I'm sorry B D F [A] sharp A C C [G] sharp E
G B and D
So once we did that
[Em] [F#m]
[G] [D] [G]
[D] So
There's that fill
Do it twice in a row if you want then do that
[G] [F#m] [G]
[D] [G] [D]
So that'd be the second time through
[F#m] And then we'll go to this next part that [G] goes
[F#m] Same chord as the intro, but this [G] time we're doing
[B] G major [F#] 7 instead of going here [A] going [F#m] F sharp [G] minor 7.
[F#m] [G]
[D] Okay, so I was doing
[G] [F#m]
[G] So G sharp, I mean G F sharp and B and then [F#m] F sharp a [G] e
[F#m] Then
[G] I'm playing that [A]
[G] a G [D] B D coming down and coming down E and D
[G] [D]
[G]
[F#m] [G]
Then [D] [G] [F#]
we're going to go to that F sharp dominant 7th chord to be [Bm] minor
[F#] [Bm]
So in
Context that sounds like this.
So we're
[G]
[F#m] [D]
[G] [F#m]
[G] [D] [G]
[F#] [Bm] [B] And that will lead us in the [D] chorus.
[G] [Bm] [F#]
[Bm] [C#] [Bm]
[Em] [G] [F#]
[Bm]
[D] Let me go back to the start just repeats [Dm] itself
There's only three main sections of the whole song.
You just got no one to
Plug them in.
So let's go over from the beginning and we'll go through that whole process [G] again.
So we're going
[N]
