[C] Thank you for tuning in.
[Gm] Today's artist is
our, [Bb] is our?
Is
[Cm] Ben Vegas and Myla Gibson [Bb] and these are two wonderful individuals who [Eb] are also amazingly talented.
[C] [Bb] We've been in the music business for a while now and
[C] yeah, they're really good.
So [Bb] tune in, check them out, and thanks for [F] watching.
[C]
[Dm] Sunset, [F] till I watched it [C] through your eyes.
[Dm] [Bb] I allowed [F] so many [C] days to pass [Bb] me by.
[F]
[F] [C] Till your [Dm] love turned [F] me around.
What that, what [C] was that name?
[Dm] 85mm [Bb] prime.
Best [F] bang for your buck.
[C]
$429.
[Bb] Really?
85, and what do you use that for?
[F] [C] I use it to shoot John Yamasato.
John [Bb] Yamasato.
[G] He uses it for selfies.
[C]
[Dm] [G] Greg.
[D] Everybody in the world, this is Greg [G] Sardina, one of the greatest [Bb] steel players to ever walk the face of, in this [C] area.
To walk the face [D] of the earth and by the [F] way, where his house is where we [C] recorded Pure Heart [A] 1 and 2.
[F] So a lot of history with this guy.
[C] Thanks for coming.
You're very [D] welcome.
Thanks for inviting.
[Bb]
Hi.
[Eb] How you guys doing over there?
Hi kids.
[C] Do not try this at home.
You should do this under adult supervision.
Very, very [D] important.
Especially if you're using a capo, [Bb] be very [Fm] careful.
I pinch you.
[Bb]
[Cm] Thank you.
[F] [Cm] What kind of guitar [C] are you playing?
This is a [C] 914 [Ab] Sunburst CE [F] from Taylor [C] and this is one of their [Bb] bigger, bigger sounding type of guitars.
It's got a pretty big body, [C] right?
Yeah, [F] 914s are the bigger, [G] probably the biggest, [C] this type of style.
The body.
[Am] Everything else [Bm] is kind of cut down.
[C] The 814, the 714s, [A] and then the 14s all goes down.
[F] I see.
Cool man.
[Fm]
[Dm] [F]
[C] [Dm]

[Dm] [F] [C]
[F]
Turn me around, [C]
your love.
[Dm] [F] Okay, I'm here with Myla and Matt for our [C] 3 minute interview starting [F] now.
So how many years has it been together, [C] you two?
[Dm] We started playing [F] together as a duo officially in [C] 2001.
But we met [Bb] and started playing together in [F] 1998 for a [C] convention band and just became [Dm] great friends and [F] knew that we had to work together.
Cool.
[C] So that's how you guys first met, huh?
[Dm] Yeah, in the Paradise [F] Distance.
Do you guys still do that?
No.
[C]
So [D] we stopped that in [Bb] 2001 and then [F] that's when we decided we would [C] work together as a duo.
[Bb] Okay, and I know that your specialty, it's not all you do, but your [C] specialty is weddings.
[D] Yes.
And how did [Bb] you fall into that?
We love doing [F] weddings.
We [C] fell into it sort of [D] by doing [F] Tana Dang's wedding.
She owns the wedding [C] cafe.
And [Bb] she [F] actually just said, you know, [N] maybe you guys should think about doing more of this.
So, planted the seed in our minds and then we just kind of went forward with the marketing and decided that, yeah, what's not to love about a wedding?
Yeah, we didn't want to think that Adam Sandler is the only wedding singer. Right.
And then you brought Greg today.
Greg is, you said, a childhood friend?
Him and I grew up from kid time.
Yeah, we used to play sports together.
But yeah, we brought him in today because he's such a talented steel guitar player and everybody knows him for steel.
But we wanted to do something totally different.
We had him bring the Adobro, which when everybody looked at it, it looked like a guitar.
It's very, very similar.
It's just the tuning is different and of course the spacing is different.
But we wanted to kind of introduce a different style altogether with what we already do.
And so that was kind of a fun thing to do.
And so we hope everybody enjoys this, the song that we did with Adobro.
Cool.
Besides weddings, do you guys have any gigs coming up that people that are watching this video can see?
We do.
We have gigs at the Aulani, the [Db] Disney Aulani Resort every Thursday from 6.30 to 10.
We do Gordon Beers like every other [Eb] Friday.
Hazzard Bistro down in Chinatown, which is awesome.
We're there like once a month on a Friday.
So you can check our Facebook page, Ben & Myla, benandmyla.com for our updated schedule.
Okay, and any other
you have an album out.
When was that released?
It was a little while ago, right?
It was two years ago.
Yeah, [D] any plans on re-recording?
Yes.
We always have plans to record.
We've been so busy with gigs, which is [E] such a good thing.
It's not a bad thing at all.
We both teach.
He teaches [Dm] guitar, I teach voice lessons.
But we are actually actively pursuing a new project.
Cool, and if people want to find out about voice lessons or [Eb] guitar lessons online,
do they just go to the Ben & Myla page and send you a message or something?
Yeah, absolutely.
That's a great way.
Okay, well thanks guys.
Thanks for coming on.
Thank you so much.
You are super awesome.
We really appreciate it.
Thank you.
Thank you.
