Hey guys, welcome to my first teaching aid.
This is to help you guys practice during the week.
You can just click on YouTube and
Find this video and I'll tell you how
And you can just use it to practice during the week by watching and learning and seeing how I'm doing things
And so you'll have me with you during the week
So I'm gonna play Amazing Grace [E] for you.
Tilt this camera down.
I'm gonna play the chords first and then the melody after that now
As far as the chords are concerned we have the G major
[G]
middle finger first finger third finger C [C] major
[E] [C] [E]
And [D] D major
all major chords
[Ab] [Gb] Now [G] as I'm playing the chord progression watch how [B] I'm strumming my wrist is loose
[G] I'm sweeping the strings
[Db] Not not jamming [A] them with the pick flat [Dm] and gripped in my hand [G] it's a nice loose loose motion
Now, okay.
Let's do the chords Amazing grace
[C] How sweet [G] the sound
That saved a [D] wretch like me [G] I
Was was lost [C] but now [G] I'm Was blind
[D] but now [G] I see
[C] [G] You don't have to [C] do that
[G] [E] At the end, but you can if you want to and [Fm] also as you keep watching this
[E] Pay attention to the strum pattern.
It's one two, and three
Three
Only [Abm] three beats because this is a
Three four song it has three beats per measure
now [Ab] for the the melody
[G] And [A] [G]
[E] [Ab] [G]
[Dm] [Bm]
[G] [Em]
[G]
[Am] [G]
you [Am] don't have to do that at the [Abm] end of course, but and you [Ab] don't have to do this as well
[G] You [A] can just go
[Ab] [D] [G]
[Db] But
As you get better at guitar and [Bb] as you continue playing you'll want to put those little flares in there to make it sound [Abm] better
I'll teach you some as we go along, but that's the that's amazing grace pay attention to the chords
The way you're strumming [Ab] the way you're picking
All the minor details are important so take it [Abm] slow take it easy
Don't get impatient with yourself, [E] and I won't either all right.
See you [G] guys.
Oh
And a quick note on that getting impatient thing
Yeah, I [Ab] won't get impatient with you if you
[N] If you practice, but if you don't practice
You [G] never know what's gonna happen [Bb] so practice
[N] time for our looking forward event this is what
This is just something that I'm gonna give you guys to look forward to to keep your eyes on the horizon
This is where you could be [Db] if you practice
It takes a long time and a lot of diligence, but you can get here
It's the same song amazing grace, but this is like a different strum [Bb] pattern you could [E] do [G] eventually
[C] [G]
[D] [G]
[C] Like me
[G] That's
[D] [G]
that I mean you [N] could play the melody like this is another way to play the [A] melody
[Bb] [G] [Ab]
[G]
[Ab]
[G] [E] [G]
[A] [G]
These [Ab]
are just little little
snippets to see where you [N] can be
All of you can be here if you just if you just work at it
And I'm not I'm not bragging there are people a lot better than me
But it's fun being able to play stuff like that, so I hope you guys will work hard and
Stick with it.
See ya
