[C] Hey, what's up [G] everybody?
This is Ty from 10thumbspro.com and today we're breaking down the classic gopher Elise
I'm going to show you the melody and I'm going to show you a couple chords you can do to make it a chord melody
Style, but it's a pretty basic chord melody arrangement.
All right
This is
[Bm] Going to be a little easier if you have a PDF in front of you and you can get a PDF with this lesson and all
[Fm] Our lessons including previous ones starting [Ab] at just a dollar a month or dollar creation capsule is a dollar a month
[G] So check it out links below direct to this PDF you want Skype lessons 101 if [N] you're interested
But if you came just because you're feeling furry [Gb] and your name is Elise, that's cool.
I dig it.
I respect it
What do you need you lady brain [G] attention span you have those three things follow me on in and let's break this lesson [Eb] down right now
Okay, so the best way to do this is in pieces.
[Bb] Let's start with the melody
Then [Eb] we show you how to harmonize it.
Here we go from the [E] top
[Ab] [Am]
[B]
[Db] Okay, so that's the first [Ab] little piece and what I'm doing [B] here is so you're kicking it off and you're going
three and one and two [G] and three [Am] and one and
two and three [E] and one and
two [Abm] and three [Ab] and
one
[C] Okay, so that's the motif that's gonna repeat
It helps me if I remember [E] the third time that I hit that seven is when I go to the two
So I go one two three, [G] and then I [Am] change
[B] Also when we get to that second [Am] bar where it goes
I'm using my thumb for all that we can also harmonize an a minor chord and an [Em] e7 chord in there like this
[E]
[C] [Am] Pull a minor on that beat
[E] E7 on that beat a [Am] [B] minor on that beat with your ring finger [Bb] finger on the third [E] fret and then you
[Em] Would start over.
[Eb] Okay.
Okay.
So let's try to play that first section with [E] the harmony
[Am]
[E] [B]
[E] Okay.
Okay.
So now we're in the second piece.
The second piece sounds like this
[B] [Am]
[E] Same so far and here's the change.
[B] Oh
three [Am] two a minor
[C] Two [Bm] three [C] five and then it's gonna go to the second part.
So let's play that those four bars together with a little kick off
[Db]
[Am] [E] [B]
[Am] [E]
Okay, now we're going okay, so those two sections kind of are like one a one B, but that's the foundation of the whole song
There's a little break here starting on the 10th bar.
That's a little different.
So let's go.
Alright starting on the ninth part
It's a little different.
[Em] So let's go ahead and take a look at that.
It looks like this
[C] [Ab]
[Eb] [E]
All right, and then actually from there.
It's gonna go right back to them
So let's [C] just play that melody together nice and slow that first [B] part seven [D]
zero
eight seven five
again up to the C string five seven five [Ab] three
[E] Open E string five three two now we can harmonize that [C] with a C bar chord up here like
Okay on the first beat one
[G] two and [Gb] three [B] and
One [C] we're going to use this [G] g7 shape
It comes from this e7 shape
[C] And we already have our finger down on that fifth fret which is convenient we strum through
[B]
Back to the a minor with the ring finger [E] and then from there open [G] five
[C] [E] three e7
So let's play that with the harmony [C] now
[B]
[Am] [E]
Okay, and then the very end you [G] should be familiar with already
I'm gonna go ahead and just put it up and play through it
Because it is the exact same as the beginning so we get to this part and it [Eb] is
[B] [Am]
[E]
[B] [E]
[Am]
[E] [B]
[Am] And then that's how the tune ends.
All right
[A] [B] Okay, so now you all the pieces.
Let's go ahead and take this one from the very top
[Db] [E]
[Am]
[E]
[E] [B] [Am]
[E] [B]
[Am] [B] [C]
[Am] [E]
[B]
[Am] [E]
[B]
[E] [Am]
[E] [Am]
[B] [Am]
