Hey, [C] what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here with Marty Music.
We're going to learn this classic acoustic blues number right now.
And also real quick, I appreciate you supporting what I do here, Marty Music.
If you haven't yet, I would really appreciate you subscribing to the channel, clicking the
bell notification, and then also I've got some great resources in the links below for
your guitar experience.
All right, here we go.
All right, so I'm just going to use the basic chords first for you, and then we'll do some embellishing.
So we're going to take a C major chord, [E] and then we're going to go to E7.
And so that's like an E major chord with the ring finger off.
So that open E rings out.
You also have this third fret B, which we're going to use
[Abm] [C] as we progress on with the embellishment.
So we have C, [G] [E] E7, A7, [A] which now I'm taking the middle and ring finger, it's second fret
D, second fret B.
And once again, you have the third fret high E,
[Em] which we're going to
use to embellish with.
So from the top, [C] C, [E]
E7, [A] A7, A7.
[E] Now this has a real nice sound, these next chords.
D minor, [Gm] A7, D minor.
[Dm]
[A] [Dm] [D]
And that's the [B] classic sound of like the D [Dm] harmonic minor.
[G] [A] [D]
[Bb] [A] [F] [Db]
[D] [Gb] [Dm]
[A] [Bb] [Dm]
[C] So C, [G] [Bm] E7, [Em] [A] A7, [Dm] D minor, [A] A7, [D] D minor.
[E] [F]
[D] So, oh, [E] one, [F] two, three, on [D] the D string, [E] oh, [Dm] one, [F] two, three, into an [Ab] F chord.
But you could go, [E] oh, [A] one, two, [F]
F, full F if you [D] want.
[E] [F]
[D] [E] [F]
[Gb] [C] And then it goes to F sharp diminished.
And [Gb] there's a lot of different [G] ways to play [F] it.
[Gm] [C]
[Ab] I like to play it this way because you're [F] hearing that [Gb] note actually move up a half step.
So, [C] and also it's not too bad if you take your index finger and you put it there on
the fourth fret of the D string, then you can form what looks like what you think of
as a D chord shape, you know, a shape that you've got some muscle memory probably.
[Gb] But then you just add [B] your pinky to that fifth [C] fret high E.
So [Gb] that's fourth fret, [Cm] fifth fret, [D] [Ebm] fourth fret, [Gb] fifth [C] fret.
[D] So, [Ebm] [G] [F] [C]
[Gb] like that.
Then I'm going to [C] a C chord [Bb] [A] and [C] I'm going C [Bm] chord and then [Bb] two, [A] one, oh, [C] A7, [B] [A] [C] just a
single note walk down.
[B] However, [Dm] [A]
[Em] as we go through some of those little embellishments, that's a thing you can do
where you take a C7 [C] this way or this [B] way, [Bb] [A] like that.
The easiest way for someone to [C] begin with.
[Gm]
[A] [C] [G] C, [Gm] [A]
A7, and then D7, not D minor, now [D] regular D7 to [G] G7.
And so the G7 is like a regular G but with the first fret on the high E.
But you can go three, [Gb] [G]
[B] [G] two, one on the high E as an embellishment.
So here are the easy chords now, or the easiest way.
[C] C, [E] E7, [A]
A7, [Dm] D minor, [A] A7, [Dm] D minor.
We're going to walk up to F, [C] F sharp [Gm] diminished, [C] C [A] down to [D] A7, D7, [G]
G7.
One more time, [C] here we go.
[Em] C, [E] E7, [A] A7, [G] [D] D minor, [A] A7, [Dm] D minor, [D] [E]
[D] [F] [C] [C] [B]
[A] [D] G7.
[G]
[C] [E] [A]
[G] [Dm]
[A] [Dm] [Eb]
[E] [D] [F] [G] [Gb] [C]
[B] [Bb] [A] [D] [Dm]
[G]
All right, so check out this first little extra kind of melody added.
[C] [G] [E]
[A] [E] So what you're [C] doing is you're going C, [Em] C, [E] E7, and then emphasizing the high E, [D]
and then
that third fret [C] Bs.
[Em]
[A] To the A7, then grab that third fret high Es.
[D]
[A] D minor, A7, and you can add that as a flavor.
[Dm] [Eb]
[E] [F] [Gb] [Ebm] [C]
[Bb] [A] [D]
[Am] [Gm] [G]
[Em] [C] [Em] [A]
[G] [D]
[A] [Dm] [D] [E]
[F] [Gb] [C] [B]
[A] [D]
[G]
[C]

[E] [F]
[D] So, oh, [E] one, [F] two, three, on [D] the D string, [E] oh, [Dm] one, [F] two, three, into an [Ab] F chord.

[E] [F]
