Hi, I thought I would do one more cut of Little Martha and let you hear what it sounds like on a resonator guitar.
I purchased this guitar this year, February of 2013.
I love the sound of metal body resonators.
I have several wooden resonators, but I wanted a metal body.
I shopped around and most of them were just a little bit too expensive for me,
so I happened upon Frank's site at republicguitars.com and found these little jewels for $699 and $30 for shipping.
Four days later it was sitting on my lap in my home, and I was just knocked out by the quality of the guitar
and how great it plays and how wonderful it sounds.
This particular model is called the Highway 61, and it is made of bell brass.
So, Little Martha on metal body guitar.

[G] So, as I stated at the start of the video, that was Little Martha by Dwayne Allman.
I'm going to run through this and give you guys a heads up on [F] how I play Little Martha.
The most important thing in this is in the [D] left hand.
I start the intro with a hammer on on the first and second frets on the third and fourth strings.
[F#] Slide them up to the third and fourth [D] frets on the same strings, [F] and then back down to the [A] first position.
[D]
Pull them off at the [A] end.
[D]
Third time through.
[A] Then [D] do this oh so cool Dwayne chord here.
[Gm]
And then get to what you call the Hendrix woman note.
[A] Then you have [G] hammer on pull offs on the third and fifth strings.
[F#] First fret, third string, second fret, [D] fifth string.
I stroke the whole guitar.
Then harmonic.
That's our intro.
Then we have one final step on our intro here.
We do a series of harmonics at the twelfth fret.
So, I stole this from Leo Kaki.
I'm like Dr.
John.
I'm a song kleptomaniac.
Not going to take credit for [E] that lick, but I am going to take credit for stealing [D] it.
Leo's the guy that came up with this one on his version of it.
It's a really great version.
So, you do a series of harmonics here.
Then you have a pull off [F] on the tenth [E] fret to the ninth fret, [Bm] back to the tenth [E] fret.
Tenth fret on the second string.
Pull it off to the ninth fret.
Hammer down to the tenth fret on the third string.
So, [D]
[A]
second and third strings.
[D] [A] Then, wow, it's a really good ring.
Seventh fret [D] harmonics.
[F#m] [D]
[A] Then I started to do the song.
So, that is the intro.
[B]
Let's talk about part one now.
