Call Me the Breeze Guitar Lesson - Lynyrd Skynyrd Call Me the Breeze Intro chords
Start Jamming...
[Em] Hi, this is Stephanie Pickard with Guitar Control, and today we're going to go over the intro [A#] for
Call Me the [A] Breeze by Leonard Skinner.
[C] As always, there's [B] tabs below to help you [D#] follow along,
and if you haven't already, [C] please subscribe to our YouTube [A#] channel, and then click [G] the bell below
[B] to turn on the notifications for our videos.
[E] Alright, let's get started.
[F#m] [D]
[Am] [A]
[F#m] [D]
[Am] [C] [F#m]
[A] [B]
[F#m] [C] We're going to break
this into phrases.
So [E] part one, we're going to [Em] slide with our third finger [B] on the fourth [E] string,
seventh fret to the [C#] eleventh fret.
When we slide, we actually put our finger [A#] down,
pick the [A] first note we want to hear, and we push it [F#] to the second, and we don't [C#m] lift it up.
That's
how [C] we keep the sustain.
[A] Pick,
[C#m] push it over.
After our slide, [E] we hammer on the ninth fret to the
eleventh fret on the third string.
I use [F#] my first finger, hammer on to my third finger.
When we
[E] hammer on, we pick once, just like when we slide, but instead of pushing over the next note, [Am] we slap
[B] our finger down, and that's how we hear the next note.
[E] So there are two attacks.
So [F#m] we slide,
[B] hammer on, then [D] we're going to hang on the [A] tenth fret, second string,
for one sixteenth note and an [C] entire [A] measure.
So [E] all together, it'll sound like [F#m] this.
[A]
Slide, hammer [F#m] on, [A] pick, and then vibrato that.
So vibrato is when we're wiggling the note around.
[C#m] [E] So a [C] different pitch, [A] we're just wiggling around the pitch.
So it adds a lot of style and [C] feel to our playing.
So phrase [A] one.
[F#m]
[D]
[A] Phrase two.
[E] I bend on the second string a full step, 12th fret, then on the second string I go
10, 12, [A] 10.
So I [F#] bend a full step on the second [B] string, 12th fret, with my third finger, using [E] my
first and second finger for support on that bend, pushing [A#] my fingers [G] towards my thumb.
[E] A whole step bend, so two frets up if you want [F#] to hear what it sounds like.
[A]
So all [E] on the second string, 12th fret, bend a whole step,
pick 10, pick [A] 12, pick 10.
Vibrato at the end.
Let's put those two together.
[F#m]
[A]
[F#m] [D]
[A]
[E] So the [G] notes will sound [E] kind of similar, but I'm going to hammer on, [C#m] instead of sliding [Em] from 7 to
11, I'm going to hammer on [G] 9 to 10 on the fourth string.
Then the same thing.
[B] [Am] So it's [C#m] just a little
different start.
So 9 to 10 on the fourth [A#] string, hammer on, [E] right?
Middle finger to third.
And then
by using my middle finger, [A#] my third, I have my pointer ready on the ninth fret, [B] third string.
I'm going to do my hammer [E] on, 9 [B]
to 11.
[A] Hang on 10 with my second finger, second string, 10th fret.
[F#m] Now instead of [C] hanging out for so long, [B] I pick it again quickly.
So I go,
[F#m] [A]
[G] [C] [F#m]
[A] so now [F#m] I pick [D]
10 again, [A] then I [E] pick 9 on the third string, work at my pointer.
[D#] A whole [E] step bend on [F#] 12, 12th fret, second string.
[F#m]
[A] And then I pick [E] 10 on the second [D#] string.
So let's hear all that.
[F#m] [A]
Pick 10 again, bend [E] again, but then [A#] I'm going to use my pinky to go
under [B] my ring finger and pick the [E] first string, 12th fret.
And then [G#] bend again on 12 on the second
[A] string.
So let's put all that together.
[C] All right, let's hear it again.
[A]
[F#m]
[A]
[F#m] [C]
[A]
[E] So this part sounds
[D#] almost exactly the same, but the end is different.
So we [C] go [F#m] just like [A] we did.
Then we're [C] going to
bend again, just like we did, but now straight [A] into a picking part.
[B] [F#m]
[Bm]
I'm using my pointer [C] on the
10th [Em] fret, my third finger, my ring finger, [C] also on the second [A#] string on the [A] 12th fret and my middle
finger on [B] 11.
[F#m] [A]
So I go [D] 10 to [E] 12 on the second string, then [F#] 11 on the third string, then 10, 12, [D] 10 on the second string,
[B] 11, 10, [D] 11, 10.
Slide it down.
[B] [F#m]
[A#] And to the very end, we slide from about 1 to 12 [E] and back.
[B]
So [C#] sliding back and forth.
So that means I [C] don't pick back up until I'm at the first fret [D] again.
So pressure [E] all the way down.
[F#m] [A]
[Bm] [F#m]
[E] All right, let's put it all together.
[A] [D]
[F#m] [A]
[F#m] [A]
[C] [F#m]
[A] [B]
[F#m] [C] [C#m]
[F#m] [D]
[A] [F#m]
[A]
[Am] [F#m]
[E]
[F#m] [E]
[D#] Thank you so much for watching.

[E] Alright, let's get started.
_ [F#m] _ _ _ [D] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Am] _ [A] _ _ _
[F#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ [Am] _ _ [C] _ _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ [C] _ _ We're going to break
this into phrases.
So [E] part one, we're going to [Em] slide with our third finger [B] on the fourth [E] string,
seventh fret to the [C#] eleventh fret.
_ _ _ _ When we slide, we actually put our finger [A#] down,
pick the [A] first note we want to hear, and we push it [F#] to the second, and we don't [C#m] lift it up.
That's
how [C] we keep the sustain.
[A] Pick, _ _
_ _ [C#m] push it over.
After our slide, [E] we hammer on the ninth fret to the
eleventh fret on the third string.
_ I use [F#] my first finger, hammer on to my third finger.
When we
[E] hammer on, we pick once, just like when we slide, but instead of pushing over the next note, [Am] we slap
[B] our finger down, and that's how we hear the next note.
[E] So there are two attacks.
So [F#m] we slide,
_ [B] _ hammer on, then [D] we're going to hang on the [A] tenth fret, second string,
for one sixteenth note and an [C] entire [A] measure.
So [E] all together, it'll sound like [F#m] this.
_ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Slide, _ hammer [F#m] on, _ _ [A] pick, and then vibrato that.
So vibrato is when we're wiggling the note around.
_ [C#m] _ _ _ [E] _ So a [C] different pitch, [A] we're just wiggling _ around the pitch.
_ _ _ So it adds a lot of style and [C] feel to our playing.
So phrase [A] one. _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [F#m] _
_ _ [D] _ _ _ _ _ _
[A] Phrase two. _ _ _ _ _
_ [E] I bend on the second string a full step, _ 12th fret, _ then on the second string I go
10, 12, [A] 10. _ _
_ _ _ _ So I [F#] bend a full step on the second [B] string, 12th fret, with my third finger, using [E] my
first and second finger for support on that bend, _ pushing [A#] my fingers [G] towards my thumb. _
[E] A whole step bend, so two frets up if you want [F#] to hear what it sounds like.
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
So all [E] on the second string, 12th fret, bend a whole step, _
_ pick 10, pick [A] 12, pick 10.
Vibrato at the end.
Let's put those two together.
[F#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _
_ [F#m] _ _ _ _ [D] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _
_ _ [E] So the [G] notes will sound [E] kind of similar, but I'm going to hammer on, [C#m] instead of sliding [Em] from 7 to
11, I'm going to hammer on [G] 9 to 10 on the fourth string.
_ Then the same thing.
[B] _ _ _ [Am] So it's [C#m] just a little
different start.
So 9 to 10 on the fourth [A#] string, hammer on, [E] right?
Middle finger to third.
And then
by using my middle finger, [A#] my third, I have my pointer ready on the ninth fret, [B] third string.
I'm going to do my hammer [E] on, 9 [B]
to 11.
_ [A] _ Hang on 10 with my second finger, second string, 10th fret.
_ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ Now instead of [C] hanging out for so long, [B] I pick it again quickly.
So I go,
_ [F#m] _ _ _ [A] _ _ _
_ _ _ [G] _ _ [C] _ [F#m] _ _
[A] _ _ _ _ _ _ so now [F#m] I pick _ _ _ _ _ [D]
10 again, [A] then I [E] pick 9 on the third string, work at my pointer.
_ [D#] A whole [E] step bend on [F#] 12, 12th fret, second string.
[F#m] _ _
[A] _ And then I pick [E] 10 on the second [D#] string.
So let's hear all that.
_ [F#m] _ _ _ [A] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ Pick 10 again, bend [E] again, but then [A#] I'm going to use my pinky to go
under [B] my ring finger and pick the [E] first string, 12th fret.
_ _ _ And then [G#] bend again on 12 on the second
[A] string.
So let's put all that together. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
[C] All right, let's hear it again.
_ _ _ _ [A] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _ _
[A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [F#m] _ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[E] So this part sounds
[D#] almost exactly the same, but the end is different.
So we [C] go _ [F#m] just like [A] we did.
_ _ _ Then we're [C] going to
bend again, just like we did, but now straight [A] into a picking part.
_ [B] _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _
_ [Bm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I'm using my pointer [C] on the
10th [Em] fret, my third finger, my ring finger, [C] also on the second [A#] string on the [A] 12th fret and my middle
finger on [B] 11.
_ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _ _ [A] _
So I go [D] 10 to [E] 12 on the second string, then [F#] 11 on the third string, then 10, 12, [D] 10 on the second string,
_ [B] 11, 10, [D] 11, 10.
Slide it down.
[B] _ _ _ [F#m] _
_ _ _ [A#] And to the very end, we slide from about 1 to 12 [E] and back. _ _
_ _ _ _ [B] _ _ _ _
_ _ So [C#] sliding back and forth.
So that means I [C] don't pick back up until I'm at the first fret [D] again.
So pressure [E] all the way down. _ _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Bm] _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ All right, let's put it all together.
_ _ [A] _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _ [A] _ _
[F#m] _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [C] _ _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ [B] _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ [C] _ _ _ [C#m] _
_ [F#m] _ _ _ [D] _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ [E] _ _ _
[D#] Thank you so much for watching.
