Wicked witch of Cincinnati pulled out a roll [F] of bromes,
dusted off the spiders, cobwebs, and used it to [Dm] fly on down
Cleveland for the [G] weekend cause she thought it'd be time to do some freakin'
[C] And it's been so long since she didn't feel [F] sad
Not [F] spending all her time [G] making people [C] feel bad no more
Now she's made up her mind, [F] put on that old dress and got [G] herself
looking [Dm] real fine, all up in the club drinking [G] Hennessy
Oh my, what a mess, I must confess [C] this
Alright, let your hair [F] down, let your heart out
[G]
[D] [Dm] Let the light in, let the light in, it's [G] all
Let the light in, let the light in [C] again
[F] I'm Bob Schneider, I'm a songwriter and a [G] performer.
I started [C] playing music when I was four.
My dad is a musician and he taught me [G] a couple songs, a couple German [F] songs.
And I would play those songs for [D] their [C] guests and friends.
[F] [G]
[C] You really don't need to be very good to impress a crowd of people when you're four.
You know, you do anything and then people are going to go crazy.
And so, I think because of those [D] experiences, I've always had this idea
that I'm [Gm] amazing at what I do, even [Dm] though [G] I really [F] have never been amazing at what I do.
[C] Well the lion and the tin man showed up at the spot
And the wicked witch walked in, said show me what you got
[Dm] And the lion ran for cover and the tin [G] man didn't move
And the band started playing this [D] groove
I'm just [C] very tenacious and hardworking [F] and I think [E] because of all that hard work and tenacity
[D] I've been able to cobble together [C] a bunch of songs that [F] I'm proud of and happy with.
No one saw it come, [Dm] wasn't too clear
And the tin man said, I don't know [G] how to do this babe
Maybe you could show me how to [C] set it all right
I'm so [D] scared of not connecting with the audience that I'll do whatever it takes
to make sure [F] that the audience is having a good time or enjoying themselves when I play.
[Dm] I think because I'm so [D]
absolutely terrified of that happening,
that's what makes me really good at what I [C] do.
Alright, let your hair [F] down, let your heart out
[Dm]
Let the lion, let the lion in
[G]
Let the lion, let the lion [C]
in
I prefer playing for as many people as possible, but I'll take whatever I can get.
I'll make the best of it.
Some of my favorite shows were shows where there were hardly any people there at all.
Then you're just kind of doing it for yourself, which is what you should be doing all the time.
You should be not caring what anybody thinks [N] and just trying to do the best job you can.
[Cm] It's kind of hard sometimes when you're playing in front of a lot [Em] of people to do that.
[E] There's this desire to want to be good.
Being [D] self-conscious and self-aware is really going to hinder you from [A] really doing your best.
[Em] Ladies, you can't [C] go, love don't give a damn
What love you will say
I really [A] love the process of creating [C#] songs, making songs, [E] writing them, recording them.
The main goal for me is that act of waking up and [A] there's nothing there.
And then when [Cm] you go to bed at night, there's a song.
The process of creating [C] something, whether it's a song or a piece of art or a poem
[A] or [Dm] an interpretive dance step, which I don't do either.
[G]
[C]
[D] The best thing to do if you're performing is to wear jeans that you're not aware of.
Because if you're aware of your jeans, then you're probably giving a fuck to some degree about what's going on.
So yeah, you don't want to be thinking about your jeans when [F] you're on stage.
